Base Class: Rogue
While most rogues rely on skill and precision, you embody the brutal nature of their murky world and have subsequently honed your hardiness and physical clout—what you lack in grace, you more than make up for in thuggish resilience. Rogues who pursue this archetype often represent criminal enforcers, marauding raiders, and streetwise brawlers.
Bonus Proficiencies
Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, flails, morningstars, and war picks.
Rough and Tumble
Beginning at 3rd level, you can now use your Sneak Attack with any weapon as long as it lacks the heavy, special, or two-handed property. You can use your Sneak Attack with a versatile weapon, but not while using it with two hands to make the attack.
Square Up
At 3rd level, you can use your bonus action to impose disadvantage against the next melee attack that targets you until the start of your next turn. When you do so, you also gain 4 temporary hit points. You can use this feature three times, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
The number of temporary hit points increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 9 at 10th level, and 14 at 15th level.
Crowd Control
Starting at 9th level, whenever you try to shove a creature as part of the attack action, you can use a bonus action on the same turn to make a weapon attack.
Unflinching
By 13th level, you have learned to withstand hefty blows and stay upright. You have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed, knocked prone, or stunned.
Battering Ram
Beginning at 17th level, you have resistance to all damage in the first round of any combat (until the start of your second turn). In addition, whenever you hit with a Sneak Attack, you reduce the target's movement by 15 feet.

Introducing version 2 of the Bruiser!
Rough and Tumble no longer grants a boost to hit points. This has been merged with Square Up.
Stand Your Ground has been renamed to Square Up. Square Up now imposes disadvantage one attack against you, and gives you a small amount of temporary hit points, up to three times per long rest, and is now the main benefit of the level 3 features.
Crowd Control now allows you the chance to shove an enemy and attack them. The slowing feature it once had has been merged into its new level 17 feature.
Punishing Blow has been entirely removed, and replaced with Battering Ram at level 17. Battering Ram makes you resistant to all damage for the first turn of combat, and additionally your Sneak Attacks slow enemies.
