Base Class: Rogue
Space. The final frontier. Though, to be honest, it’s not so different from the frontiers of the old west. There are still those that seek out wealth and fame by mining for precious metals, still highwaymen who make you pay illegal tolls to get where you want, and still people in positions of power that no one wants there. But you? You have thge most important job this frontier can provide. And that job is simple. You kill people from a distance. For you see, as a wise man once said, “as long as there are 2 people left in existence, someone’s gonna want someone dead.”
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the tinker’s tools and the poisoner’s kit, as well as Firearms.
Assassinate
Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.
Spellcasting
You gain the ability to cast spells. You cast them from the ranger or artificer list, and intelligence is your spell casting modifier.
Hide in Plain Sight
Starting at 9th level, you can spend 1 minute creating camouflage for yourself. You must have access to fresh mud, dirt, plants, soot, and other naturally occurring materials with which to create your camouflage.
Once you are camouflaged in this way, you can try to hide by pressing yourself up against a solid surface, such as a tree or wall, that is at least as tall and wide as you are. You gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks as long as you remain there without moving or taking actions. Once you move or take an action or a reaction, you must camouflage yourself again to gain this benefit.
Focused shot
At 13th level, you gain the ability to pour all of your focus into a single, well placed shot, while also making yourself vulnerable to any who try and sneak up on you.
When you spend a minute studying a target, you may gain advantage on an attack roll against them, as well as maximize your sneak attack dice. However, you automatically fail any Wisdom (Perception) check you make against anything or anyone besides your target and and space within 5 feet of them.
.
Death Strike
Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
