College of Distortion

Bards of the College of Distortion "enhance" their "music" with as much electrical distortion as they can muster. They may appear to be simply enjoying themselves, but they are also capable of bending the perceptions and wills of those around them. They disrupt and alter the magical energies flowing around and through them, cranking it all up to 11.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Distortion at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Deception and you learn the Shocking Grasp cantrip.

Magic Interference

Also at 3rd level, as a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to mark a creature within 60 feet of you. For the next minute the first time that creature makes a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell or magical effect, roll your Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the DC.

Additionally, whenever a creature uses your Bardic inspiration for a saving throw against a magical effect, that creature can reroll any roll of 1 on either the saving throw or Inspiration die (not both). They must use the new roll.

Spellthief

At 6th level, you learn counterspell. It does not count against your number of spells known. When you cast counterspell, if the spell you interrupt is only targeting one creature, you can choose, instead of dispersing it, to change the target to another creature within 15 feet of the original target unless the spell's range is less than that.

Electrical Feedback

Also at 6th level, when you make a Concentration check, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and add the number rolled to the check, but you take lightning damage equal to the number on the Bardic Inspiration die.

Visual Distortion

Starting at 14th level, as an action, you can emit electrosonic distortion powerful enough to blur the forms of certain things nearby. For one minute or until you take any damage, you and any creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you become fuzzy and indistinct to the eye. All attacks against affected creatures are made at disadvantage, and their faces and body shapes cannot be recognized or remembered accurately.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
