Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Gladiators are fierce and powerful warriors who embrace not only their inner rage, but their inner showman. Combining a ruthless thirst for violence with an insatiable desire for attention, a Gladiator relishes every battle as the greatest show of his life.

Showman

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance skill.

Persona

At 6th level, you create a persona that you take on while acting as a gladiator. Choose whether your persona will be Heroic or Villainous, and receive the associated benefits.

Heroic Persona

  • While raging, you gain 2d6 temporary hit points.
  • Upon killing an enemy while raging, you may choose one ally within 30 feet. You and that ally recover 2d4+4 hit points.
  • You gain proficiency in Persuasion.

Villainous Persona

  • While raging, your first attack on each turn deals an additional 2d6 damage. The damage type is the same as your weapon.
  • Upon killing an enemy while raging, you may make an additional weapon attack as a bonus action.
  • You gain proficiency in Deception.

Center of Attention

At 6th level, you become adept at drawing the ire of your enemies. While raging, you may use your action to call attention to yourself. All enemies within 30 feet must make a Charisma saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Performance modifier. On a failed save, an enemy has disadvantage on attack rolls against any target other than you. After landing one hit against you while under this effect, it immediately ends.

Finishing Move

At 10th level, when you hit an enemy with a weapon attack and that enemy has a number of hit points remaining less than or equal to your level plus your proficiency bonus, you may kill that enemy instantly in a grand demonstration of bravado.

Grand Champion

At 14th level, your name echoes throughout arenas and battlefields across the world. You gain expertise in the Performance and Intimidation skills. Your gladiator persona abilities are enhanced as follows:

Heroic Persona

  • Upon killing an enemy while raging, you may choose one ally within 30 feet. You and that ally recover 4d4+4 hit points.
  • You gain expertise in Persuasion.

Villainous Persona

  • While raging, your first attack on each turn deals an additional 4d6 damage. The damage type is the same as your weapon.
  • Upon killing an enemy while raging, you may make an additional weapon attack as a bonus action. This attack benefits from the additional damage granted by your persona.
  • You gain expertise in Deception.
