Base Class: Barbarian
One of the First Heroes of Avalestra's new age, An'ders Farcoil, was a ferocious human warrior who was left on the Deepening Train as a baby, and adopted by a Gnomish family in Wondervel. Being a good-natured soul, he nonetheless seethed with rage at being the biggest, most muscular thing in Wondervel for the longest time. Not only was nothing hardly ever suited to his ever-increasing size as he grew up, he was always shouldered with workhorse jobs and menial labor to earn his keep, whether he liked it or not. He was not given free tutelage by any trade guild (as is often offered to Gnomish citizens of Wondervel), and often, he'd end up being forced into security duties which endlessly bored him. He was angry at what he then perceived as his perpetual mistreatment. However, he loved and respected his adopted gnomish family, and wouldn't dare to disrupt their lives, or their societal standing in the Guilds, so he decided in his youth to save his coin for a ticket on the Deepening Train and head out into human lands on the surface world and the lands beyond. He became an adventurer, and got caught up in the pursuit of the Divine Thrones. In his adventures, he had one extremely major accomplishment to his name, and that was the defeat of Ensignia, "The Machine Goddess" created by Makaven the Crafty. An'ders vanquished the powerful automaton with help from some of the First Heroes, but she fled before he could destroy her, and she has escaped far from the mainland continent, to places no one yet knows.
An'ders vowed to smash the Machine Goddess someday, and he began to train in the unique styles of battle that would effectively nullify and destroy magic users and magic constructs, in particular. He has channeled his rage into his own righteous Path, and it is one that will not rightly tolerate the misuse of such magics. Due to the unique methods by which he has rigorously trained, he is more particularly adept at abolishing magical threats, in particular. When the Empyrean Army heard of his techniques, they took a special interest and implored him to train a cadre of warriors to fight in such a style. An'Ders took the candidates to travel abroad, hoping to train them and to learn of the whereabouts of Ensignia, and they began to promote the new legends of the Path of the Farcoil together.
Mage Slayer
You gain the Mage Slayer feat. If you already have this feat, you may choose another feat instead.
Witch Hammer
You learn the techniques to properly strike and disrupt magical conduits, causing greater harm to constructs and spellcasters alike. Whenever you deal damage with a melee weapon to a construct, you deal +2d6 of the same type to that creature. Additionally, if you deal damage to a creature that was concentrating on a spell and it loses concentration as a result, you create a backlash of primal force that deals +2d6 force damage to that creature. These dice of damage improve to +3d6 at 12th level, and +4d6 at 17th level.
Sensing the Skeins
You learn a specific set of unique nature rituals which enable you to cast Detect Magic as if it were a Ritual Spell. The duration for this version of the spell is doubled. You may use this ability a number of times per long rest equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1).
Additionally, whenever your allies within 10 feet would be subject to any effect you can detect with Danger Sense and that effect is magical, such as from a spell or from a magic trap, each of those allies receive the benefit of Danger Sense regarding that effect.
Punish the Mystical
When you are in a Rage and a spellcaster includes you as a target of any spell, you may use your reaction to gain resistance to magic damage until your Rage ends.
Additionally, when you are in a Rage and you attack a spellcaster and cause them to lose concentration on a spell, you may use a bonus action to cause a violent backlash of primal power that deals 1d4 force damage to that spellcaster for each level of the spell that was lost. You may also use this ability to damage a construct you have just hit with an attack, in which case you may use a bonus action to deal force damage equal to your level. You may use either of these uses of this feature twice per Rage.
