Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards come from various art forms, from song and dance to inspirational speech and leadership. A bard that chooses the College of Paints is one that imbues their own artworks with the very magical fibres a bard weaves. These bards may practice in oil paints or pencil sketches that they bring to life. Alternatively some use ceramic clay or even wooden carvings that they imbue magic into. Either way, the College of Paints is one of creativity and expression that no other college has replicated.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Valor at 3rd level, you a gain proficiency with either Callighrapher's Supplies, Glassblower's Tools, Painter's Supplies, Potter's Tools or Weaver's Tools. You also magically acquire the Artisan's Tools you gain this proficiency in.

This choice determines the art form you use to mix with your bardic magic. You can use your chosen tool as your Arcane Focus.

Artistic Recreation

Also at 3rd level, you learn to bring life to your art. As part of a long rest, your prepare one artwork that you can use to summon a recreation of a creature you've studied. When you do so, pick a beast that you've seen at least once before with a challenge rating equal or lower to your levels in Bard. Once you prepare this artwork, any previous ones lose their imbued magic and cannot be summoned.

As an action, you can take your prepared artwork and bring it to life. The chosen beast appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of you. This creation shares the same statistics as the chosen beast but is considered a Construct rather than a Beast and is immune to poison and psychic damage and the poisoned condition. The Artistic Recreation can understand you but cannot speak unless the chosen Beast can. The Artistic Recreation shares the physical features of the associated beast but may look as stylised as the art you created for it.

In combat the Artistic Recreation shares your initiative but takes its turn directly after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take one of the actions in its stat block or the Dash, Disengage, Help, Hide, or Search action. Furthermore, you can use your action to cast spells through your Artistic Recreation, which then becomes the source of the spell. (Eg. a spell with the "self" range would be cast on the Artistic Recreation)

Outside of combat the Artistic Recreation can perform simple tasks if its Beast counterpart would normally be physically able to.

Once the Artistic Recreation remains for 1 hour, it drops below 0 hit points or you choose to dismiss it, it vanishes.

Artistic Imporvisation

Starting at 6th level, you learn how to use your Bardic inspiration to empower your Artistic Recreation. When your Artistic Recreation hits with an attack or makes a saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend a Bardic Inspiration die and add its roll to the outcome. You can also expend a bardic inspiration die as a bonus action to give your Artistic Recreation temporary hit points equal to your roll + your Charisma modifier.

Furthermore, you can prepare 2 Artistic Recreations during a long rest rather than one. You can have both recreations out at once if you so chose but can only use your action to summon and bonus action to command one at a time.

Artistic Interpretation

At 14th level, you have studied more exotic creatures and can summon an interpretation of that creature. As part of your long rest you can create one artwork depicting one Monstrosity with a challenge rating equal or less than your levels in Bard that you have seen once or studied for at least 10 minutes. Once you prepare this artwork, any previous ones lose their imbued magic and cannot be summoned.

As an Action you can summon the chosen creature as an Artistic Interpretation in an unoccupied space withing 60 feet of you. This creation shares the same statistics as the chosen Monstrosity but is considered a Construct rather than a Monstrosity and is immune to poison and psychic damage and the poisoned condition. The Artistic Interpretation can understand you but cannot speak unless the chosen Monstrosity can. The Artistic Interpretation shares the physical features of the associated beast but may look as stylised as the art you created for it.

In combat the Artistic Interpretation shares your initiative but takes its turn directly after yours.

Outside of combat the Artistic Interpretation can perform simple tasks if its Monstrosity counterpart would normally be physically able to.

Once the Artistic Interpretation remains for 1 hour or you choose to dismiss it, it vanishes. If the Artistic Interpretation drops to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to instead drop any summoned Artistic Recreations to 0 hit points and heal your Artistic Interpretation an amount of hit points equal to the amount of hit points the Artistic Recreation had before using your reaction. Alternatively, if you don't currently have any Artistic Recreations summoned, you can expend one of your prepared art works to heal your Artistic Interpretation an amount equal to a roll of your bardic inspiration die + your levels in Bard. If you do not have any summoned Artistic Recreations or prepared art works to sacrifice the Artistic Interpretation drops to 0 hp and vanishes.

Master of Your Own Art

Beginning at 14th level, you've learnt how to control your summoned artworks to their full potential. Whenever you use your Action to summon an Artistic Recreation, you can instead chose to summon both at the same time, appearing in separate unoccupied spaces withing 30 feet of you. Furthermore, whenever you take a bonus action to command either an Artistic Recreation or An Artistic Interpretation, you can choose to command all currently summoned Artistic Recreations or Artistic Interpretations.
