Base Class: Warlock
A shadow thief is warlock who is seeking to further his skill through power who happened to be found by a patron who is in need of his services. This is the type of warlock who the patron calls on to retrieve important things for him secretly or as quietly as possible. This is the secret agent of the patron trading power for jobs of securing artifacts or documents and doing it all in the shadows. Nearly every patron has a Shadow Thief or two even if they would not outright admit that they do.

Borrowed Skills
At first level, you gain Guidance as a known cantrip and does not count against your total. You also gain proficiency in 1 skill from the rogues list or proficiency with thieves’ tools. You also gain expertise in one skill.
Shadow Double
At first level, your patron transforms your shadow into a familiar to assist you. You can move your shadow following the rules of your movement and can be within 1 mile radius of you. If it exceeds that limit it returns to your feet and takes 10 minutes to resummon.
While the Shadow Double is connected to you it is immune to all damage and grants you darkvison of 60 feet.
While separated the shadow can perform the help action and the owner can use the shadow’s senses.
While your shadow is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
As an action, you can temporarily dismiss your shadow and it returns to being your shadow. As an action while it is temporarily dismissed, you can cause it to reappear in any unoccupied space within 30 feet of you.
Finally, when you cast a spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an attack roll, you use your attack modifier for the roll.
If the warlock takes pack of the chain the Shadow Double replaces his familiar and gains the stats of Shadow (page 269 MM).
Shadow Double Pact of the Chain

Shadow Armor
Starting at 10th level, your patron blesses you with his protection. You gain the ability to hide when lightly obscured by dim light or shadows. You also gain resistance to necrotic damage.
Secrets of the Shadows
Starting at 14th level, your patron teaches you the gifts of the shadows. The warlock will receive a pool of shadow dice (d8) equal to 1 plus their charisma modifier. The warlock can use these dice to add to skill checks, saving throws, attack rolls and damage. The dice maybe added after the roll but before the outcome is determined.
The dice pool refills when you finish a short or long rest.
