Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

You are an expert in the use of thrown weapons, and incredibly skilled at moving quickly and nimbly through a battlefield. A Blade Slinger specializes at chipping away the outer defenses of an enemy formation, and waiting for the perfect time to pounce on an opponent who becomes out of position. Rangers who adopt this archetype excel as escorts, scouts, skirmishers, or occasionally as infiltrators.

Blade Slinger Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Blade Slinger Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Fast Hands

Starting at 3rd level, you learn techniques that improve your speed and accuracy when using thrown weapons. You can draw a weapon that has the thrown property as part of the attack you make with the weapon, and attacking at long range no longer imposes disadvantage. You can also use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls with thrown weapons.

At 7th level, you may also use your reaction to make an attack against a creature whenever it moves more than 10 feet away from you.

Seasoned Skirmisher

By 7th level, you have become better at weaving rapidly through the fray of battle. Attacks of opportunity against you have disadvantage, and you can take the Dash action as a bonus action. If you use your bonus action to engage in Two-Weapon Fighting, you may also Dash as part of the same bonus action used to make the attack.

Barrage of Blades

Once you reach 11th level, you can release a surge of adrenaline to make an incredible number of attacks. You can use your action to make a single ranged attack against a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier. You must have ammunition for each target, as normal, and you make a separate attack roll for each target.

If you expend a spell slot as part of the Barrage, you can increase the targeted creatures by a number equal to the spell slot's level divided by 2 (rounded up).

Redirect Missles

Starting at 15th level, you can use your reaction to deflect or catch a missile when you or a creature within 5 feet of you is hit by a ranged attack. When you do so, the damage from the attack is reduced by 1d12 + your Dexterity modifier + your ranger level.

If you reduce the damage to 0, you can catch the missile if it is small enough for you to hold in one hand and you have at least one hand free. If you catch a missile in this way, you can make a ranged attack with the weapon or piece of ammunition you just caught, as part of the same reaction. You make this attack with proficiency, regardless of your weapon proficiencies, and the missile does 1d8 damage with a range of 60 feet.
