Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Diamond Heart train in the arts of protecting others. These unique monks tend to be protectors of others and try to take as much damage as possible in order to have their allies survive.

A monk of this monastery looks at a person in a completely different way than others. They see the body and heart as one and work to make their heart as tough as possible as to make sure that their body can never be penetrated. Such a mindset is one that very few monks have, however, so finding one of these monks is a rare occurrence.

Stagger

At 3rd level, you learn to easily shrug off attacks, delaying the damage from the attack. When you are hit by a weapon attack, you can use your reaction to half the damage that you take. At the start of your next turn, you take rest of the damage unless you are healed before then. You may use this feature before or after the attack hits you, but must use it before you take the damage or know how much damage was dealt.

Tough Target

At 3rd level, you can use your bonus action to spend 2 ki points to add your proficiency bonus to your AC. You lose this benefit at the start of your next turn.

Gift of the Diamond Heart

At 6th level, you can spend 1 ki point after taking damage from an attack to summon a watery sphere visible only to you anywhere within 15 feet of you, except in your space or anyone else's. When you move through the sphere, you regain hit points equal to 1d4 + your Wisdom modifier. The sphere can only heal you, lasts for one heal, and can only be summoned once per short or long rest.

Celestial Fortune

At 11th level, when you hit a creature with a critical hit, you gain temporary hit points equal to half the damage you deal.

Heart and Soul

At 17th level, you learn how use your body's full potential. You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. In addition, you can spend 5 ki points as an action to gain resistance to all damage for 1 minute.
