Base Class: Barbarian
Much like the Berserker, the Flagellant lives to fight. However, the Flagellant has learned that sometimes, the best way to get around an opponent's sword is to have it pierce through you and watch the fear in their eyes as you now are close enough to cut their throat. And sometimes, better still, to take out the whole enemy party in one swoop, even if in the process you die. Doesn't really matter, your life is only at the behest of the next fight, the next opponent, searching for the one with whom you will finally embrace in Death. Whether a religious fanatic, a masochist or perhaps even someone with demonic ties in their ancestry, the Flagellant is a warrior who gains in power and strength from their own pain. Always at the front of the battle, these near maniacal berserkers fling themselves into ever greater adversity, near seeking out their enemy's weapons just to satiate their lust for blood, whether their own or that of others.
Seeing Red
Being at the forefront of the fighting puts a blood-caked grin on your face, your excitement rising as you feel death approaching closer for both you and your opponents. at 3rd level, if while you are raging you receive damage equal to (or higher than) your level in a round, during your turn you gain advantage on your attacks, and a 19 rolled on a d20 counts as a critical hit. This effect only lasts during your turn, after which you have to take that amount of damage again in order to have this effect. at Level 10 you crit on a rolled 18, and at level 17 you crit on a rolled 17.
Out of the Way
Starting at 6th level, whenever you are raging and see an ally within 5ft of you get hit with either a ranged or a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to take that damage instead. If the attacker still has attacks remaining and attempts to hit the same ally again, they will do so at disadvantage.
Scream into the Void
Perhaps to give your allies one last advantage, to leave with your enemies mentally broken, or perhaps simply you feel like letting your ecstasy of pain be heard and felt, your roar with inhuman, bestial power. at level 10, while raging, you can use your action to attempt to stun all enemies within a 10-foot radius centered on yourself. When you do so, all enemies within range that can hear you need to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). If you are Seeing Red during your turn, they do so at disadvantage. Upon failure, your enemies are stunned for a round. When you use this action, your rage ends, and you suffer one level of exhaustion.
Neither can Survive
At 14th level, the very spirit of battle is your fuel, and the blood, whether from you or from your enemies, is a beautiful paint to complement the collage of pain, metal, screams, and death. You realize there is beauty in destruction, life in death, and humanity in cruelty. Your heart beats a drumbeat to the symphony of this revelation, strangely stronger the closer it can feel itself coming to the end of its purpose. At 14th level, while under the effects of Furious Bloodletting, you can forego your advantage on either one or both your strikes. If you do so and the attack still hits, you regain a number of hit points equal to the amount of damage you deal.
