Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

For unfathomable reasons, an ancient lich used perverse and foul magics to procreate with a living being, and you are a descendant of that union.

The blood of your undead ancestor has left a tangible mark on your existence. Choose one of the quirks below or roll a d6 and consult the table.

 Lich Spawned Quirks
d6 Quirk
1 You are always icy cold to the touch.
2 When you are asleep, you don’t appear to breathe (though you must still breathe to survive).
3 You barely bleed, even when badly injured. When you do, your blood is thick and semi coagulated.
4 Your heart beats once per minute. This event sometimes surprises you.
5 Your blood is black as night.
6 You blinked. Once. Last week.

Necrotic Blood

1st-Level Lich Spawned feature

Whatever profane means they used to procreate, your lich ancestor managed to pass along some of its dread knowledge and power through the blood now coursing through you.

You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Necrotic Blood Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class.

 Necrotic Blood Spells
Sorcerer Level Spells
1st cause fear, inflict wounds
3rd ray of enfeeblement
5th bestow curse, vampiric touch
7th shadow of moil
9th contagion, negative energy flood
11th harm

(Some spells are not tooltip linked or coded in, to allow for publishing. Work with your DM for private homebrew to add them to your spell list)

Manifest Undeath

6th-Level Lich Spawned feature

Starting at 6th level, you begin to take on some dread aspects of your undead ancestor. Your body begins to look withered and emaciated and you become resistant to Necrotic damage. Additionally, as a bonus action, you can spend one or more sorcery points to take on certain undead aspects. Choose the aspect(s) from the choices below.

Undead Metabolism (1 point)

For the next 24 hours, you do not need to eat, sleep, drink, or breathe.

Undead Sight (2 points)

Until you complete your next long rest you have darkvision to a range of 60ft.

Undead Constitution (2 points)

For the next hour you are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Undead Fortitude (3 points)

For the next hour, the first time you would be reduced to 0 hit points, make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 10 or half the damage dealt, whichever is greater, if you succeed on the saving throw you are reduced to 1 hit point instead and this aspect ends.

Undead Transformation

14th-Level Lich Spawned feature

Starting at 14th level, the undeath flowing through you grants you the ability to temporarily assume some of the qualities of your lich ancestor. As a bonus action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to transform into your undead form for 1 hour. You automatically revert to your normal form if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die, but otherwise cannot return to your normal form until the hour has passed.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

In the Character Builder, set the option for Undead Transformation to Undead Form to activate the bonuses for that form on the character sheet.

Normal Form

Your character is in their normal form. Change this option to "Undead Form" when the character has transformed.

Undead Form

Selecting this option has updated the character sheet with the features of your Undead Form.
