Base Class: Druid
Across the realm, legends persist of the sleeping ancients that rest far underground, deep in forgotten forests, locked away in forbidden tombs, and floating slowly between the stars. When these ancients thrash in their sleep, great calamities befall the world, and their awakenings foretell the end of all things. The druids of the Circle of Sleeping Ancients carefully tend these dreaming giants, passing the eons with them, and soothing them in their eternal slumber. When not tending to their responsibilities, they often join adventuring parties to supply much needed respite from the constant violence.
Improved Sleep
When you join the Circle of the Sleeping Ancients at level 2, you always have the Sleep spell prepared. It does not count toward your total number of prepared spells.
In addition, when you cast the Sleep spell, you roll d12 dice instead of d8 dice to determine how many hit points worth of creatures can be put to sleep, and each additional level of the spell adds 3 additional dice, not 2.
Improved Sleep also has a special potency on creatures that are capable of passing long eons slumbering, and this spell can soothe them to keep them from awakening.
Patient Magic
Starting at level 2, you may cast any Druid spell with the "(ritual)" tag as a ritual even if you didn't prepare it.
For your convenience, all the druid spells with the ritual tag are listed below.

Blessing of Rest
At 6th level, you gain the ability to bless a creature (or yourself) to gain a more restful sleep during its next long rest. To use this feature only requires a gentle touch or a simple declaration to a creature you can see (no action required). The creature chooses one of the following benefits during its next long rest:
- The creature regains three quarters of its missing hit dice (rounded up), rather than the normal half of its missing hit dice
- The creature is alleviated from one extra level of exhaustion
- The creature benefits from recuperation (see pg. 187 of the Player's Handbook)
- The creature is blessed so its next saving throw has advantage. If unused, this blessing lasts until the next time the creature starts a long rest.
In addition, if the creature is one that is haunted by nightmares, insomnia, or chronic pain, it can rest peacefully with this blessing.
Creatures that do not sleep (such as elves) cannot benefit from Blessing of Rest. You may use this feature once and must finish a long rest before using it again.
Awaken the Sleeper
Starting at level 10, you may cast the conjure elemental spell as a ritual. If you lose concentration of the spell, there is no risk of the elemental attacking you or your allies. Instead, the elemental simply stops what it's doing to lie down and sleep, dissolving again into its elements.
Forest Ancient
At 14th level, you gain sympathy with the creatures that pass long millennia sleeping, and see the eras of mortals as the small clips of time they are. With this feature, you can use the Wild Shape ability to take the form of a treant.
You may also use your Wild Shape ability to take the form of an inanimate plant. If you do, you can remain in that form indefinitely and do not age while transformed. While an inanimate plant, you are able to feel the things a plant might feel (such as changes to the weather or damage to your form), but cannot see, hear, or use other senses.
