Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Catharsis tap into the heavier parts of the Song of Creation, writing songs and telling tales of struggle, pain, and strife. These Bards believe in the restorative act of expelling negative energies by wallowing in them in order to let them pass through the spirit with greater ease and pace.

Their songs cut tumors out of the soul.

Catharsis Bards can also hurt as much as they heal. Their songs can degrade the mind and spirit of the most hardened person, like a vampire draining their victims of blood.

They can be a real bummer, to the point of fatality.

Mantle of Sadness

You take on an appearance of great sadness for 1 minute, causing all enemies in a 15ft radius to have disadvantage on attacks for the duration. You concentrate on this feature as if it were a spell.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Melancholic Presence

Your overall demeanor feeds off of, and is enhanced by bad vibes. You have advantage on Charisma checks at night and in adverse weather conditions (rain, clouds, snow, fog). The DM determines if the weather is appropriate or if an environment outside of this description fits the requirement.

Bardic Disillusionment

Your Bardic Inspiration can be used to sabotage enemies. When giving Bardic inspiration to an ally you can instead give a Bardic Disillusionment die. This die can be used by an ally as a reaction to lower the roll on an attack against them. It can also used to lower the Saving Throw of one enemy as a bonus action.

The Bardic Disillusionment die scales with Bardic Inspiration.

Cry It Out

When using the Song of Rest feature during a short rest you can make the song a mournful dirge that purges negative energy from you and a number of targets equal to your Charisma modifier. You can choose to use the following spells without expending a spell slot: Lesser Restortation, Remove Curse, Cure Disease

Runnin' Toward the Light/Runnin' Scared

As an action the Bard can infect all creatures in a 15ft radius with positive or negative energy. Creatures with positive energy automatically succeed on their next Saving Throw and creatures with negative energy automatically fail their next Saving Throw at the Bard’s discretion.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
