Base Class: Monk
These monks create explosions of different forms of energy based on their personalities. A cold, dark, or sullen monk would use blasts of ice and cold mist. A hot-headed or angry monk would control blasts of fire. These monks are experts at using the chaos and rage built up inside them to their advantage. Many monks of other monastic traditions fear Explosive Soul's will lose control, but their resolve is enough to keep their Ki under control.
Ki Damage Type
When you choose this monastic tradition at level 3, choose a damage type of fire, cold, acid, radiant, or necrotic. This choice will determine what damage your Explosive Soul attacks deal. You can choose another damage type at 11th level, and you can choose which damage between the two you want to deal. Whatever damage you choose will be labeled as x in subclass features.
Ki Blast
As an action, you may spend 2 ki points to make an attack with one of the following blasts;
- All creatures in front of you in a 30ft cone must make a dexterity saving throw against your Ki save dc. Creatures take 1d10 x damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
- Make a ranged attack roll against a creature within 60ft. On a hit, the creature takes 2d6 x damage. Additionally, you can charge this ability to your next turn. If you don't release the blast, you can maintain concentration on the charge. You can spend 1 ki point as an action for up to 5 turns. The damage increases by 1d6 for every ki point spent on charging the blast.
- Choose a creature within 5ft of you. That creature must make a constitution saving throw, being blinded and deafened until the beginning of your next turn on a failure. If the creature fails, you may then make a melee attack against it as a part of the action.
Raging Energy
As a bonus action, you deal x damage equal to your monk level in addition to your monk attacks for 1 minute while maintaining concentration. All your attacks have advantage, however all attacks against you have advantage, and you must only attack the nearest hostile creature to you while in this state. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
Master of Chaos
All your monk attacks may count as ranged attacks with a range of 10ft. These attacks will deal x damage equal to your melee attacks. These attacks also won't have disadvantage against targets within 5ft of you. Additionally, if your hands and/or feet are free, you may travel up to double your jump distance or triple your jump height by spending 1 Ki point as a bonus action, as you burst forward with blasts of energy. If you maintain concentration and spend 1 Ki point each turn as a bonus action while in the air, you gain a fly speed of 30ft.
Chaos Bomb
As an action, you can spend 5 ki points to cast fireball as a 9th level spell. However it does x damage instead of fire.
