Bard
Base Class: Bard

Students who attend the college of gastronomy have a knack for service to others to make them happy while at the same time making them happy where their heart lies. The students who graduate from these colleges live on to be esteemed chefs or grandeur cities owning their own restaurants, living in the countryside specializing in down to earth-recipes, or even becoming a true gastronomist, searching for the perfect dish and some of the rarest ingredients.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Gastronomy at 3rd level, you gain proficiencies in the brewing and carpenter kits. You also start with the cook's utensils in your inventory along with the other two kits.

Culinary Genius

At 3rd level, you have the knowledge of many different cultures and their unique cuisines, thus you can cater to the variety of taste buds out in the world of Iterante. When you gain this feature, you are able to identify any hazardous, edible plant life and can smell hints of poison in food and drink within 30ft.

The cuisines you know categorize under these topics:

  • Comfort Food
    • These foods can be whatever the client wants but must originate from their childhood background or whatever makes them feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside
    • When consumed, the target receives temporary hit points equal to your bard level + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) until the next meal or Dawn.
  • Hot and Spicy
    • These foods are for the daring adventurers who look for excitement in a mundane life or a challenge to beat. Or they're just outright crazy.
    • When consumed, the target gains Advantage on all Strength Saving Throws and Strength Checks for 1 hour. Additionally, the target is resistant to cold damage for 1 round. Lasts until next meal or Dawn.
  • Umami Filled
    • The most savory of dishes. To some, it is the most pleasing of dishes, but to many, it is the most balanced of dishes.
    • When consumed, the target gains Advantage on all Wisdom checks for 1 hour. Additionally, the target can immediately know the next lie someone tells within a day.
  • Sour Head
    • The black and white line of the sour taste, some like it, others, not so much.
    • When consumed, the target gains one of the following depending on if they like the taste or not.
      • Like it: Resistant to Acid damage for 1 hour
      • Dislike it: Resistant to Poison damage for 1 hour
  • Sweet Tooth
    • For those who are addicted to the unrelenting sugar high or just want something sweet.
    • When consumed, the target gains a +5 to their initiative for 1 hour, however, at the end of the duration, if the target has entered combat, at the end of combat they must make a Constitution Saving Throw with the DC equal to your Spellcasting DC. If they fail, they take one point of exhaustion. Additionally, the target has a +2 to all passive senses and their corresponding skills for 1 hour.

Additionally, any meal you prepare can be cooked in under 1 hour and all food you prepare is considered magical unless declared otherwise beforehand. You may only prepare 2 of these types of meals a day, each costing 10gp of ingredients serving 5 Medium sized creatures. At level 6 you may prepare up to 4 meals a day and the number of occupants you can feed increases to 10 Medium sized creatures using this feature. At level 14 you may prepare up to 6 meals a day and if done during a short rest, the Comfort Food benefit is doubled if using that specific meal or if using a different meal, the Comfort Food bonus is automatically added without expending additional materials or ingredients.

Chef's Etiquette

At 6th level, whenever a creature consumes your food, you have advantage on all Charisma and Wisdom checks against that creature for 1 hour. Additionally, whenever you give that creature your Bardic Inspiration Die, they roll with advantage as well or if they didn't like the food, they roll with disadvantage.

Perfect Technique

At 14th level, you have experienced tastes that consist of the most delicate dishes and the harshest of palettes; a true mastery of the culinary arts. As long as you have the ingredients needed, around 500gp worth, you may cast the Heroes' Feast spell without expending any spell slots. Any creature who consumes your food using this feat may choose any two meal benefits from your Culinary Genius feat. These bonuses are then added on top of the Heroes Feast benefits. Additionally, if you are cooking this meal live, you may choose up to 10 creatures that can see you. These creatures must make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your spell save DC or be entranced by you for as long as you are cooking. Entranced creatures have their full attention on you in complete awe, suffering a -10 to their passive perception.
