Base Class: Bard
So many people love the song and delight a bard brings with them. It’s no wonder that they get fans and groupies who excitedly follow their every move. The College of Adoration draws on the power that comes with the love of a bard. The more they love you, the stronger you become and the more you can make them love you.
Members of the College of Adoration can seem, and often are, quite self-centred. This might cause some strife within a group of adventurers but as long as the rest lets the bard get their spotlight it will work out. They can sigh and shake their heads in the background, or join the crowd in cheering the bard on. Either way, the bard needs attention.
Adoring Fans
When you join the College of Adoration at 3rd level, you can use the power that comes from others’ love for you and what you do. Whenever someone expresses true adoration for you, you gain a special Inspiration die that doesn’t count against the maximum number of dice you can have. You can gain a second die if you already have one, but that requires 5 additional people at once to express how much they admire you. A third die can be achieved if an additional 20 people in one group, a fourth for 50 more people and a fifth for 100 more.
These dice are not regained by Font of Inspiration or after a Long rest. In fact, a Long rest removes once of the dice if you have any left. These dice can always be used to inspire yourself on any ability check or saving throw. Other than this they work as your regular Inspiration.
Expectations
Starting at 3rd level, you strive to live up to the worship your followers have for you. Provided someone you’d like to impress can perceive you, you can reroll any one die once. You must use the new roll. You can choose to do this after you roll the die, but before the DM tells you the result. Once you have used this ability, you can’t use it again until you have finished a short or long rest.
Enticing Performace
At 6th level, your fans become malleable to your wishes. Anyone who is listening to your music or taken in by your poetry, and is within 60 feet of you, must make a Wisdom saving throw. There is no limit on how many can be affected at once by this ability, but the performance must be of a kind they enjoy. On a failure, they are charmed by you for the next hour. They may make another saving throw should you or your allies hurt them or their friends, or if you give them an order that goes against their safety or alignment.
Once you have used this ability, you can not use it again until after you have finished a long rest.
Thrill of the Concert
If you hold a concert for more than 30 people who enjoyed it enough to express their love and adoration, starting at 14th level, you can live off of that high for a full day. During that time you can give yourself advantage on any ability check, saving throw, or attack with a bard ability or spell. You can choose to do this after you roll, but before the DM tells you if you’re successful or not. You can use this ability up to four times. Unexpended uses disappear 24 hours after tour concert. The concert itself must be at least one hour to provide this effect.
