Base Class: Monk
As the assassin curses under her shortening breath, she swings her dagger wildly, hoping one slash will find its mark on the Mad King's guard. But with unnaturally fast movement, each attack is nimbly dodged. Before the thoughts of defeat are even allowed to manifest, a lightning fast series of blows have ended the consciousness of the would-be regicide, before a devastating strike ends their life.
The private army of the Ala Mhigan nation is notorious worldwide for their impeccable unarmed fighting techniques. Inspired by Rhalgr, the Destroyer, those on his path are capable of building up incredible speed and power in battle, and can carry that momentum on almost indefinitely. Only when all is destroyed do these monks find rest.
Having unlocked the mystical chakras within the body, these disciples can spend ki to open them and remove bodily limitations temporarily to allow for great feats. Continuously training in a hidden monastery for many years, all they had for company was strict training, their teachers, and most importantly, each other. The value of strong comrades is never underestimated in their education, and fighting alongside other martial artists makes their skills truly shine.
Open Chakra
Starting when you choose this Monastic Tradition at level 3, as a Bonus Action, you may spend 1 ki point to open a chakra.
Chakras are used to fuel a variety of other abilities in this tradition.
Chakras remains open for one minute or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn, taken damage since then or opened another chakra.
The maximum amount of chakras you can open is 1. This amount increases as you level up, once at 6th level, once at 11th level and once at 17th level to a maximum of 4 chakras.
Greased Lightning
Starting at 3rd level, fueled by a desire for destruction, opening chakras within your body enables you to continuously barrage foes with powerful strikes without being held back by bodily limitations. While chakras are open you receive the following benefits.
Arms of the Destroyer. Once per turn, when you use the Attack Action, you may perform a number of Unarmed Strikes equal to the amount of open Chakras you have as a Free Action.
Featherfoot. While benefiting from your Unarmoured Defense feature, your AC is increased by 1 for every open chakra you have.
Brotherhood
Starting at 6th level, your mastery over Ki and allows you to empower nearby allies. As an Action you may spend up to 3 ki points to empower a number of allies you can see equal to the amount of ki points spent within 30 feet of you.
When these allies are under the effect of Brotherhood gain the following effects:
- Fraternity. When successfully dealing damage with the Attack Action, you may add the Monk's Martial Arts die to the damage roll. Doing so opens a Chakra for the Monk who applied the effect. Effect lasts for 1 Minute or until used to empower an attack.
Forbidden Chakra
Starting at 12th level, you learn to focus the energy dormant within open chakras into a single, devastating attack.
When you use the Attack Action, you may use this feat to add a number of d12 equal to the amount of open chakras you have to the damage roll. All chakras close when you use this feature.
Perfect Balance
Starting at 17th level, you are capable of instantly using large amounts of ki to quickly force chakras to open. Once per combat, as a bonus action, you may spend 4 ki points to instantly open 4 Chakras.
