Base Class: Bard
The College of Culinary takes root in all flavors from around the globe. From the spicy peppers of the Dragonborn Curries to the subtle sweet of Elven Tarts to the all famous hearty Dwarven steaks, the bard of the College of Culinary strives to immerse themselves in the pursuit of flavors. Their meals are the stuff of legends, mixing all cultures and flavours to create dishes that can bring a warm confidence to even the most timid of adventurers. Legend even has it that the most powerful of heroes of time need a hearty dish to push them forward when the time of adventure strikes.
Fabulous Flavours
At 3rd Level you gain the ability to add magical flavours to your meals you make for your allies. When cooking a meal for your allies during a rest, you can use your magic to imbue a strong flavour into your dish to give your allies an extra edge until their next rest. Roll a d6, and take the output from the supplemented table below to obtain your new "flavour" added into your dish.
| d6 | Flavour |
| 1 | Sweet - Your allies gain a singular extra d4 to their initiative rolls until their next rest. |
| 2 | Hearty - Your allies gain a +1 Armor Class until their next rest. |
| 3 | Salty - Your allies gain a singular extra d4 to their damage rolls until their next rest. |
| 4 | Bitter - Your allies gain a d4 temporary hit points until their next rest. |
| 5 | Sour - Your allies gain a temporary d4 to add to an ability check until their next rest. |
| 6 | Spicy - Your allies gain a resistance to a damage type of your choice until the next rest. |
These flavours enhance when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to d6 / +2 at 5th level, d8 / +3 at 10th level, and d10 / +5 at 15th level
You also gain the ability to cast detect poison and disease and purify food and drink for free twice a day.
The Chef's Cooking Tome
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to "store" a recipe specific meal you've made before in a special tome of your choosing. Once per long or short rest, you can use the memories of that recipe to inspire your allies to fight harder for their next meal. When you do so, choose a number of creatures you can see and who can see you within 60 feet of you, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). In doing so, they gain a temporary 5 hit points. When a creature gains these temporary hit points, they also gain advantage on their next attack or skill check.
To "store" a meal in your Chef's Cooking Tome, you must spend one Bardic Inspiration die to inscribe it into your tome, which does not return at the end of your long rest. The recipe is saved in your tome until you recite it's magical memories, in which it wipes itself away from the Chef's Tome until stored again. You may also "store" the recipe to re-create a special meal for your party at the next rest you take without having to roll for flavour. However, if you "store" the recipe once again after using a previous recipe, the cost of the recipe's Bardic Inspiration die doubles each time it is made.
Purveyor of Fine Ingredients
When in combat, you can "size up" a new ingredient to add to your dish. Using a point of Bardic Inspiration, you can give your allies advantage on an enemy, so that they can find the "best cut" for your dish. If the enemy falls after you have given Inspiration to an ally, you can then use the remains of the foe to add to your dishes. Depending on what your enemy was will give you specific "ingredients" to add to your dishes. CR divided in half (rounded down) determines how many of these "ingredients" you can gather from the creature. Each "ingredient" is good for one set of dishes for your immediate group of allies. However, not every ingredient will always pan out in a dish, and can have some unintended side effects.
| Abberation | "Madness Martini" - Grants resistance to all psychic damage until next rest. |
| Beast / Monstrosity | "Prime Cuts" - Grants a +2 to damage rolls until next rest. |
| Celestial | "Radiant Ambrosia" - Grants resistance to all radiant damage until next rest. |
| Dragon | "Breath Broth" - Grants a free breath attack that deals 2d6 (of dragon's type) as an action that can be used once before the next rest. The DC for this is 10 + Chef's Level. |
| Elemental | "All Season's Sugars" - Grants resistance to the elemental's type until next rest. |
| Fey | "Faerie Sweets" - Gain advantage on all Charisma checks until the next rest. |
| Fiend | "Hellfire Hot Sauce" - Grants Devil's Sight until next rest. |
| Giant | "Svell-Bread" - The ally is given one free use of the spell Enlarge until next rest. |
| Ooze | "The Chef's Secret Sauce" - Once per day, the ally can "engulf" an enemy in a magical field that does (half Chef's level) x d6 acid damage as a reaction to being hit with a melee attack. |
| Plant | "Vicious Veggie Platter" - Grants the chef to add another free dice roll to the Flavour Chart to add to their dish. If the roll equals the first roll, then the chef must throw out the excess flavour and take the original roll. |
| Undead | "Lurker's Jerky" -If damage reduces the ally to 0 hit points, they must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+ the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the ally drops to 1 hit point instead. |
Ingredients, after being harvested, are only good for 1d6 days after initial harvest. Should a rotten ingredient be added to a dish, you will not gain the benefits of the ingredients, but instead only the negatives. Ingredients can be preserved with frost based spells for an additional (1d6 x spell level) days.
At 3rd level, you can only add one extra "Fine Ingredient" to a dish. The number of "Fine Ingredients" that can be added to a dish increase with subsequent levels, 2 at level 5, 3 at level 10, and 5 at level 15. However, you can only add one ingredient type per dish, as adding extra ingredients will not enhance the overall flavour.
*DM's note - With consuming human flesh, give a large penalty, as cannibalism is generally seen as an evil act. While this was omitted from the list, it is still possible for it to be added to the dish that is created. Also, it is up to the DM's disgression to give specific bonuses based on the specific creature, if the given bonus does not fit.
Maestro of the Ladle
When cooking up meals for you companions, you can choose 2 of the flavours you would like to add to the dish, and the roll a d4 for the last flavour. When making a meal, and adding all three flavours and a "Fine Ingredient", your dish becomes a "Masterpiece Meal", granting one of your Bardic Inspiration die to each ally that consumes the meal. Between consumption and the next rest, the ally can use this Bardic Inspiration die as they would normally, however it does not count against your Bardic Inspiration die count.
"Masterpiece Meals" can also be inscribed into the Chef's Cookbook and can be used up to two times before needing to be re-written.
