Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Rogues do most of their work in the dark while the rest of the world sleeps. It therefore seems natural for Rogues, particularly Kalashtar, who develop psionic powers to focus on the dreams of their foes or victims. The Dreamwalker moves through a battlefield unnoticed, confounding opponents with nightmarish or alluring hallucinations, and pulling knowledge from the dreams of those around them.

Learning by Osmosis

Starting at 3rd level, when you finish a long rest you gain one skill or tool proficiency of your choice. You can replace this proficiency with another when you finish a long rest.

One Foot in a Dream

Starting at 3rd level, you no longer need to sleep. When you take a long rest, you must spend at least 4 hours in an inactive, motionless state while your spirit explores the dreams of your companions or others. In this state, you remain semiconscious and you can hear as normal.

Waking Dream

Starting at 3rd level, you may use your cunning action to do one of the following actions once per short rest.

  • Blind Spot - Choose a number of creatures equal to your INT modifier within 30 feet. Affected creatures must make an INT saving throw with a DC of (8 + your proficiency bonus + your INT modifier). On a failure, you become invisible to that creature until the end of your next turn.
  • Nightmare - Choose one creature within 30 feet. They must make an intelligence saving throw. On a failure, they enter a waking nightmare. Choose a point within 30 feet. The affected creature is frightened of an unknown apparition it sees there. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.
  • Daydream - Choose one creature within 30 feet. They must make an intelligence saving throw. On a failure, their wildest dreams come true, and within reach. Choose a point within 30 feet. They are drawn to that point. They can only take the move action on their turn until they have reached that point. They may still take reactions. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.

Dream Walk

Starting at 9th level, you may enter the dream of a sleeping creature on the same plane as you. This creature's name and approximate location in the world within a half-mile radius must be known to you. Your body enters a trance, while your spirit is projected into the dream of your target. If the creature is willing you may ask as many questions as you like to guide the dream and uncover buried memories (at DM's discretion). An unwilling or unaware creature must make an intelligence saving throw to detect intrusion. On a success, you are expelled from their dream, though your identity is not revealed. On a failure, you can ask a leading question, possibly guiding the dream to information they would rather not reveal. The creature makes an intelligence saving throw each time you wish to guide the dream in a new direction. You are expelled after the third dream shaping.

If you successfully enter and leave a dream without alerting the dreamer, or if the dreamer is willing, you can take a bit of knowledge with you. Roll a D3 to decide the benefit you gain from the realm of dreams. This benefit lasts until you finish a short or long rest.

  1. You learn how to speak, read, and write one language of your choice.
  2. You gain one skill or tool proficiency of your choice.
  3. You gain proficiency with one saving throw of your choice.

After you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Prophetic Dream

Starting at 13th level, during a long rest, you may ask a direct question of the inhabitants of the dream realm that can be answered with "yes," "no," or "unknown." They answer truthfully, using the knowledge of all other creatures dreaming at that moment.

Lucid Dream

Starting at 17th level, you can bend reality to your will. You can cast one of the following spells at 6th level without material components or spell slots:

  • Passwall
  • Fly
  • Dimension Door
  • Polymorph
  • Telekinesis
  • Creation
  • Dispel Magic
  • Globe of Invulnerability

After you cast a spell with this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

At 20th level, can use this feature twice between long rests
