Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You channel your rage to access the arcanium. Whether you were raised around magic or cursed with it, you can utilize your arcane power to enhance your martial tactics and wrath.

Spellcasting

At Level 3, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells.

Cantrips

You learn two cantrips. You learn another wizard cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Rage Caster Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Charm Person and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Charm Person using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher

You know three 1st level wizard spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the Evocation and Transmutation school of spells on the wizard spell list.

The Spells Known column of the Rage Caster Spellcasting table shows when you learn more wizard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an evocation spell of your choice and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

The spells you learn at 7th, 11th, 16th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the wizard spells you know with another spell of your choice from the wizard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots, and it must be an evocation or transmutation spell, unless you're replacing the spell you gained at 3rd, 7th, 11th, 16th or 20th level from any school of magic.

Spellcasting Ability

Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your wizard spells, since you learn your spells through dedicated study and memorization. You use your Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier

Runic Rage

At Level 3, You channel your arcane energy while raging on the battlefield. You gain the following benefits while raging:

  • You have advantage on Constitution saving throws.
  • You can cast cantrips and can concentrate on spells.

Note: Cantrips don't benefit from rage damage bonus if they deal damage.

Additional Cantrip

Also at Level 3, You gain an additional cantrip that requires an attack roll. This cantrip doesn't count toward your cantrips known.

Arcane Berserk

At Level 6, Your rage causes some arcane energy to further enhance your body and arcane prowess.

While raging, as a bonus action, you can expend a spell slot to enter an arcane berserk for the rest of the rage. While in this arcane berserk mode, you can cast a cantrip as a bonus action and your melee weapon attacks count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunity's but you can concentrate on spells.

You can end this effect early by using an action to calm your agitated arcane energy and reduce yourself to a normal rage. If your rage ends while still in your Arcane Berserk, you gain a point of exhaustion.

Reckless Step

At Level 10, You can use your arcane power to escape eminent danger. After making a successful attack with Reckless Attack, you can use your reaction to teleport yourself to a space within 30 feet of you.

You can't use this ability while in your Arcane Berserk.

Vicious Cantrips

At Level 14, Your rage persists to the extent of your cantrips. While raging your cantrips benefit from the rage bonus to damage rolls if the cantrip requires an attack roll.
