Base Class: Ranger
Some threats can be very hard to find indeed. They hide in the dark, away from where the light would reach them. They know how to get away without being brought to justice. However, it is because there are those dangers to society that we must rise up and meet the challenge of finding them. Municipal investigators, private investigators, various levels of inquisitors and even the dogged journalists spend their lives looking for these hidden dangers. There are those who specialize in finding those things that hide away. Some of those special investigators who track and find these beings of the dark share a common calling.
Tireless Wayfinder
At 3rd level, you gain a greater mastery over the tracking of your targets. Once you get the scent of a creature, you don't let up in the pursuit. While you are successfully tracking a creature by mundane or magical means, you can't lose track of it while it is within 120 feet of you. It can try to hide or become invisible, but you always know where it is, even past obstacles, obscurement and in total cover. You know the direction and distance between you and your target.
Nemesis Stalker
At 3rd level, you gain a better understanding of the creatures you are trying to hunt. When you encounter a creature of a type of your Favored Enemy, you know its weaknesses and strengths. Without having to make a check, you can recall the creature's damage vulnerabilities, damage resistances, damage immunities and any weaknesses it might have to light, prevention of regeneration and other similar features.
In addition, when you deal damage to a creature of a type of your Favored Enemy, gain a +2 bonus to damage for each of your attacks against it. If the creature has any type of damage vulnerability, this damage is of that type.
When you reach 11th level in this class, the extra damage increases to +4.
Unsettling Presence
At 7th level, your very presence strikes fear into the hearts of your prey. When you hit a creature with an attack while they are surprised, or while you are hidden, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
Relentless Pursuit
At 11th level, you become increasingly difficult to escape as a hunter of your prey. As a reaction to a creature of a type of your Favored Enemy moving away from you, you can move up to half your speed toward the target without provoking attacks of opportunity and make one weapon attack against it. You must end this move closer to the target than you started. This reaction happens after the triggering movement is completed.
Seeker's Ward
At 15th level, you gain the ability to scout out danger before running into it. As an action, you can create an invisible sensor within 120 feet in a location familiar to you or in an obvious location that is unfamiliar to you. The sensor remains in place for the duration and it can't be attacked or otherwise interacted with. You recieve visual information through the sensor as if you were in its space using your senses. This sensor lasts for 1 hour.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to half your ranger level. You regain these uses after finishing a long rest.
Instead of creating a stationary sensor, you can instead create a moving sensor. As an action, you can spend 2 uses of this feature to create a moving sensor. In addition to recieving information based on your senses, this sensor can detect invisible creatures within 30 feet of it. As a bonus action, you can move the sensor up to 30 feet in any direction. You can also give the sensor basic instructions, such as to follow behind a target or to move around in a circle. The sensor cannot move more than 300 feet away from you. This sensor lasts for 10 minutes.
