Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Soul Slicer follow a tradition which eschews traditional martial arts in favour of soul arts, and are often motivated by a spirit of experimentation and a greater understanding of their inner power. Often thought of as mystics or psions, these monks find employment in many fields, ranging from subterfuge to spiritual leadership. Due to the nature of their gifts and the relative rarity of such monks, monasteries of this way tend to be hard to find or even disguised as something else entirely.

Psychic Arts

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can perform various psychic attacks and use your ki to augment yourself or cast spells.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

You have the following abilities available to you:

Soul Slice. As part of an attack action, while not wielding any weapons, you can spend 1 Ki point to augment your strike by manifesting psychic blades from your fists. Doing so converts your damage type to psychic. This applies to other attacks made as part of your action and Flurry of Blows as well.

Soul Bolt. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to cast eldritch blast.

Soul Interference. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to cloud the mind of a single creature that you can see within 120 feet of you. The target creature must make a Charisma save against your spell save DC. If it fails the save, as long as you are concentrating on this effect, it becomes completely oblivious to your presence for the next 10 minutes, or until you attack it or dispel the effect as a bonus action.

Soul Shield.  As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to mentally prepare yourself to shield against incoming attacks. Until your next round, you have a +1 bonus to your AC.

Warp. As part of your movement, you can spend 2 ki points to instead teleport to an unoccupied location which you can see, to a maximum distance equal to your total movement speed. Once you do this, your movement speed is set to 0 until your next round, regardless of how far you teleported.

Focus. As a bonus action, you can spend 4 ki points to give yourself advantage on attacks, ability checks and saving throws until your next round.

Mind Peek

At 6th level, you gain the ability to peek into the mind of another creature. As an action, spend 2 ki points to cast detect thoughts on a target creature.

Psychic Shroud

By 11th level, you always cast an imposing, quietly unsettling psychic shroud on creatures around you in a radius of 10 feet while you’re not incapacitated. Creatures in the range of this aura have a disadvantage on Insight checks made against you.

At 16th level, this aura increases in potency. You have advantage on Intimidation checks, and you use your Wisdom modifier for it.

Affect Creature

At 17th level, your ability to reach out to other creatures manifests in an ability to affect them in one of the following ways:

Embolden. As an action, spend 2 ki point to grant a target creature visible within 120 feet of you immunity to becoming frightened for the next 10 minutes. If they are already frightened, the condition is dispelled.

Quicken. As an action, spend 2 ki points to cast haste on a target creature.

Terrify. As an action, spend 2 ki point to cast fear on a target creature.

Stasis. As an action, spend 4 ki points to surround a target creature that is visible within 120 feet of you with a bubble of force, putting them into stasis. If the creature is unwilling, they can resist the effect with a Strength saving throw vs. your spell save DC. If a creature is affected by this, they fall asleep and become immune to damage until their next turn.
