Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The Cavalry Archer archetype places you above your foes, quite literally. Atop your noble mount, your strikes become deadlier than ever, and your movement through the battlefield becomes swift and unpunishable. The bond that a ranger shares with his/her horse becomes a power that few opponents dare to challenge.

Rider's Bond

At third level, when you select this subclass, you gain the ability to summon a mount and create a strong connection with it. Once per day, you may cast the Find Steed spell to summon a riding horse without expending a spell slot or components. The summoned steed has extra hit points equal to your ranger level times three. In addition, you may add your proficiency bonus to your steed’s AC and attack and damage rolls. You also gain proficiency in Animal Handling if you did not already have proficiency. Your steed acts with you in combat, taking its turn on your initiative count. Unless you use a bonus action to order your steed to attack, it can only take the dash and disengage actions.

At higher levels: At level 7, you may use this feature to summon a warhorse.

Bred for War

At seventh level, your steed is familiar enough with battle to become more effective. While you are mounted, your steed gains access to the “Charge” attack. When you attack a creature while mounted, if you move at least 20 feet before attacking, you may use a bonus action to have your steed make an attack against the creature prior to your attacks. If the attack hits, the creature must make a strength saving throw or be knocked prone if its size is no larger than your steed’s. The save DC is equal to 8+your mount's strength modifier+your proficiency bonus. You have advantage on attacks made against prone creatures.

Instant Summons

At eleventh level, your bond with your mount has deepened, and the magic that binds you together is strengthened. Once per short rest, as an action, you may instantly teleport your mount from its current location to where you are.

Two Become One

At 15th level, your bond with your mount is unparalleled in depth and power. You can now channel your mount’s power through yourself. Once per long rest you may use a bonus action to enter a bonded state with your mount. This state lasts for a minute or until you end it with another bonus action. When you enter this state your mount disappears, lending its power to you for the duration. For the duration, you gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to your proficiency bonus and you may make one extra attack per turn.
