Bard
Base Class: Bard

Most bards are storytellers and loremasters, but Bards of the College of Mockery are not.  They are regarded with a mixture of joy and fear.  They are witty and vicious, seeking moments of weakness to pounce on and take advantage of.  These Bards specialize in breaking down a target's psyche and making them hesitate to create windows of opportunity.  Their weapon is words and they are known to never miss.

Jester

When you join this College at 3rd level, you learn how to use your words to entertain and how to use them to cut into your opponents psyche.  You gain the Vicious Mockery cantrip and the Hideous Laughter spell if you do not know them already.  If you already know one/both of these, you may choose instead one cantrip and/or a first level enchantment spell.

The Last Laugh

When you join this College at 3rd Level, you learn how to recover from a blow and come back and hit harder.  When you are hit by a creature's attack or spell you may expend one bardic inspiration die and deal psychic damage equal to the number rolled on that die plus your Charisma Modifier.

Antagonizing Spirit

You have learned how to channel your antagonizing nature to take the heat off your allies.  When you reach 6th level in this subclass you gain the Pester and Annoy feature.  As an action on your turn, you can taunt a number of creatures equal to your Charisma Modifier (Minimum of 1) within a 30 foot range. These creatures must succeed a Wisdom Saving throw on a failure a creature has disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than you.  If a creature other than you attacks an affected creature, the affected creature may repeat the saving throw.  This affect lasts for 1 minute or until there are no more affected creatures.  You can use this feature once per day and recover it from a Short or Long Rest.

Master of Mockery

At 14th Level you gain the following benefits:

  • When you hit a creature with The Last Laugh it has disadvantage on it's next attack.
  • Additionally, when you hit a creature with The Last Laugh, you gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on the die.
  • When using the Pester and Annoy feature you have resistance to the damage that affected creatures make against you.
