Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Salt are full of frustration at minor things, constantly taking mental notes on what makes them upset and why. Whether singing angsty songs or ranting to blow off steam, these bards are fueled by anger.

Boisterous Oration

When you join this college at 3rd level, you gain the ability to infect others with your anger. Twice per long rest, you can use a bonus action to go into a rant or other performative measure that lasts for one minute. This ability ends early if you lose concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell), or if you are incapacitated. This ability does not affect spellcasting or actions that you can normally take on your turn. You are able to let loose the frustration stored inside you to cause creatures of your choice within 20 feet of you to be deafened by your outburst. Creatures within 40 feet of you that can hear you (including those deafened by this effect) must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 1d4 thunder damage on a failed save. The noise from this performance travels 300 feet. A creature that enters this area, or starts its turn there is subject to this effect and must make the save as well.

If you are within the area of effect of a Silence spell, you are only quieted (other creatures within the range of your deafening effect can still hear you), thus halving the radius of the effect. You are still unable to cast spells that require verbal components while within the silenced area.

The thunder damage increases by 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d4), 11th level (3d4), and 17th level (4d4).

Stubborn Ways

Additionally at 3rd level, your hardheadedness has made you resistant to practically everything. You can add your charisma modifier to your unarmored AC and you have advantage against being charmed or frightened.

Obstinate Focus

At 6th level, you have become so thick skulled that you are harder to distract or kill. You can add your Charisma modifier to checks made to maintain concentration on a spell.

Additionally, when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you complete a long rest.

Infectious Aggression

At 14th level you can inspire rage in others. As a bonus action, you can induce rage in creatures of your choice within the range of Boisterous Oration and force them to make an Intelligence saving throw. A creature automatically succeeds if it is immune to being frightened. On a failed save, the target loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe, regarding all creatures it can see as enemies until the spell ends. Each time the target takes damage, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success. The affected creature must choose a target at random from among the creatures it can see within range of the attack, spell, or other ability it’s using. If an enemy provokes an opportunity attack from the affected creature, the creature must make that attack if it is able to.

This effect lasts for a maximum of 1 minute, and can be used once per long rest.
