Base Class: Wizard
Wizards who study the School of Umbramancy focus more on the supportive and evaisive side of magic by allowing themselves to hide in the shadows themselves, be it friend or foe. They can also use the shadows around them to protect their allies or even use their allies shadows as a protective entity. Spending their time studying in the shadows allows the to percieve in complete darkness where others could not, however a light source may hinder this ability.
Umbral Refuge
As an action, you can enter a shadow. If the shadow belongs to a creature, the creature must be willing or make a Wisdom Save vs your Spellcasting Modifier. While in a shadow, all of your senses are dulled except your ability to hear, you cannot cast spells and are considered untargetable to all forms of attacks except attacks that deal radiant or fire damage.. If you are using the shadow of a creature, you can communicate with that creature telepathically. If you are in the shadow of an unwilling creature you can, as a bonus action, attempt to read the surface thoughts of the creature if they fail a Wisdom Saving Throw vs your Spellcasting Modifier. If you want to leave a shadow, you can use your action to emerge and are ejected to the space closest to the shadow that is not occupied and are made prone. At the end of an unwilling creature's turn, they can make the saving throw again to forcefully eject you from their shadow.
Dusk Horizon
When in complete darkness, you gain darkvision out to 60t. If you already have darkvision it extends out an extra 30ft. This darkvision allows you to see through magical darkness. If a light source is within 20 ft of you, you lose your darkvision or if you already have darkvision, you lose the ability to see in magical darkness and you return to your normal darkvision range.
Mantle of Shadows
As a reaction when you or a willing ally are attacked and that attack does not do fire or radiant damage, you can use the shadows to give you or your ally an increase to their AC that is equal to your Intelligence modifier until the start of your next turn. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier and regain uses on a long rest.
Gift of Twilight
While using your Umbral Refuge, you now have access to all of your senses and can move freely in certain shadows, but you still cannot cast spells. If you are sharing a shadow with a willing creature you will passively give them a bonus to saving throws and skill checks equal to your Intelligence modifier and you share your Dusk Horizon class ability with them. Additionally, unwilling creatures make their saving throws to eject you with disadvantage and instead gain a penalty to their saving throws and skill checks equal to your proficiency bonus.
Blessings of the Dark
As an action, you can cause the shadows of all allies in a 30ft radius around you to rise and attempt to protect their origin. Your allies can now use their reaction to gain aid from their shadows, giving them a bonus to their AC and Saving throws that is equal to your Intelligence Modifier until the end of their next turn. After using their shadow, it will return to its dormant state. You may use this feature once per Long Rest.
