Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

A Soul Seeker is someone who serves those who harvest souls. Whether willing or not they are enlisted on a journey to collect souls that are deemed worthy by their deity to become a part of their realm. Often times Soul Seeker's are shunned in the common public and feared often throughout whatever town they are part of. They bare an emblem that marks them as situational murderers. Many times after they are able to complete their journey collecting souls they regress into a hermit lifestyle dealing with the psychological weight of the souls they have stolen. They also harness the power of these souls themselves using them in a newer form of magic that feeds off the power in ones soul. Your patron will give you an item that will be what stores the souls you are harvesting (a ring, sword, circlet, etc...). Work with your DM to find the item for your campaign. This item will hold 10 charges or souls. The souls can be used to either give 1d4 healing to an ally or 1d4 damage to any attack. If you use any charge you must make a wisdom saving throw. Should you fail you are in a catatonic state for 1 round.

Expanded Spell List

Your Patron imbues you with the ability to have a wider range of spells centered around souls to use in order to harvest more.

Soul Seeker Expanded Spells

Harvesting Souls

Your patron gives you the ability to read the soul of those you come in contact with. This is done through the Cantrip Soul Seek. The souls that you harvest imbue you with extra abilities to complete your task. In order to harvest a soul you must be the one who strikes the killing blow onto them and then use a first level spell Soul Trap. Souls are the economy of your character. You can use 1 soul to cast any Soul Based spell within the expanded spell list. You can do this even if you do not have an available spell slot. When a soul is used to do any of the abilities attached to them (i.e. add damage, heal, cast a spell, use a class feature) you must make a wisdom save against a DC that scales per soul used which is detailed below. Should you fail this save you enter a catatonic state for 1 minute or until the end of your next turn.

1-2 souls used: DC8
3-4 souls used: DC10
5-6 souls used: DC12
7-8 souls used: DC14
9-10 souls used: DC16

Soul Shield

Your Patron craves souls and wants to make you a stronger warrior to harvest them. At first level, 2 times per long rest, you can use your reaction to roll a d6 and add that number to your AC to make yourself a little harder to hit. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.

Swirling Souls

Starting at 6th level, once per short rest you can activate a swirling dome of souls as a bonus action centered around you. This creates a circle with a 10 ft radius centered around you of souls. This makes all of the area within the circle rough terrain as well as any creature that enters or ends it turn in this area (including allies) takes 3d6 Necrotic Damage and you heal half of the damage (minimum of 2). Creatures entering the area have the option to make a CON save against your DC to take half damage.

Soul Swap

Your Patron craves souls enough to bring you back from the brink of death. At 10th level, once per long rest, if you have at least 3 souls stored up, you can swap those souls for your own when unconscious and regain consciousness by regaining 4d4 hit points and standing back up if you choose to.

Realm Tear

Your Patron craves souls and wants a front row seat to what you are doing. At level 14, once per long rest you can touch an opponent and create a small black hole on that spot taking them with you to the realm of your Patron. Your opponent must make a CON save against your DC. On a fail they take 8d10 damage and are stunned until the end of their next turn. On a successful save they only take half damage and are not stunned. No matter what they teleport with you. You spend 1d4 rounds in the other realm before teleporting back to your spot or the nearest unoccupied space.
