Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Sin enables Bards to channel the evils of mortals into themselves for even more powerful magic. In addition, many Sin Bards not only utilize these wrongs for power, but often guide these abilities to fight the very monsters they stem from.

Chosen Sins, Part I

Starting at level 3 when you choose this subclass, you can choose between two of the legendary Seven Sins to channel for your power. At later levels, you will gain the ability to channel more Sins, but at level 3 you may choose one of the following:

  • Gluttony.
  • Lust.
Gluttony

Channeling the Sin of Gluttony grants you an insatiable hunger. Gluttony means to consume, devouring not just food, but the lifeblood of your opponents. When channeling the Sin of Gluttony, as a bonus action, whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you regain 1d4 HP. This increases to 1d6 at level 8, 1d8 at level 13, and 1d10 at level 18.

Lust

Channeling the Sin of Lust gives you an almost magical appearance that compels others to follow you. Lust represents powerful emotions, and the ability to control these gives you an amount of control over many. When channeling the Sin of Lust, you gain Proficiency in Persuasion and Deception.

Takes One to Know One

Starting at 3rd level, your familiarity with the evils of the world lets you understand when people are deceiving you. After spending at least 1 hour with someone, as an action, you can force them to make a Charisma saving throw against your Spell Save DC if they are within 15 feet of you. On a failure, for the next 10 minutes, you are able to detect when they are lying and when they are telling the truth. The creature can continue to make the saving throw every minute they are under these effects.

The creature does not know when they are under the effects of this feature. You will know when the creature succeeds or fails a saving throw. If, at any time, you are unable to see the creature, or the creature is not within 30 feet of you, the feature ends early. Regardless of how it ends, you must then finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.

Chosen Sins, Part II

At 6th level, you learn to call upon more powerful Sins to aid you. At 6th level, you can choose to channel either of the following:

  • Envy.
  • Greed.
Envy

Channeling Envy allows you to see what others have, and take it for yourself. Envy means to desire that of another, and allowing you to go so far as mimicking them in order to gain their power, if only for a brief moment. When channeling the Sin of Envy, whenever you finish a long rest, roll a d8, giving you an ability from another class. Once you gain an ability through this feature, you lose the ability you previously had.
