Base Class: Warlock
As an unrepentant gambler, your debts have gotten a little out of hand ...
Having sold your soul to Lady Luck, you become her favored champion. You now have the power to use your vice as a weapon, turning your cards against your enemies and the enemies of Lady Luck. But be careful--no one wins forever.
Pact of Spades
Lady Luck has bestowed upon you a magical deck of cards, featuring either the classic hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades symbols or a four-symbol group of your choosing. Known as the Lady's Deck, these cards are a manifestation of the Lady's power and can be used as an arcane focus for spellcasting. If physical combat is more your style, the Lady's deck may be used to add an extra d4 to weapon damage rolls. The d4 damage from the cards is treated as magical slashing damage. You also gain proficiency in one simple or martial weapon.
The deck can be magically called and dismissed from the character's hands at will, but must remain within 5ft the character's physical location in order to be used. The deck is still considered to be 'physically close' in instances of astral projection, extraplanar travel, and/or other incorporeal effects as long as the character can still move or take actions. If the Lady's deck is ever lost or destroyed, it can be resummoned by placing 1 handful of salt and 1 gold piece in the wielder's pocket and taking a long rest. The deck will reappear in the pocket, destroying the salt and the gold piece.
Additionally, when used as actual playing cards, the Lady's deck gives the wielder advantage on sleight of hand, deception, intimidation, and performance checks. All card games and card tricks involving this deck trigger this effect, but the wielder can choose to ignore advantage if desired.
The Lady's Invocations
The Lady has bestowed her volatile blessing on you. You may choose from her Eldritch Invocations. Choosing two of these invocations replace the Eldritch Invocations received at 5th and 9th level normally.
Bluff Reader
You gain advantage on Insight checks against humanoids you've interacted with for longer than a minute.
Call (9th Level)
Once per long rest, you may impose a negative 1d8 to any attack or ability check. If the attack or check still succeeds, the next attack or check made by you receives negative 1d8.
Fan of Spades (8th Level)
Once per long rest, you may Bonus Action summon a halo of cards around your head and shoulders. For the next minute, your attacks deal an additional 2d4 of magical slashing or force damage. Magical slashing damage summons real cards, force damage summons exploding cards. Damage type must be called before Fan of Spades is summoned and cannot be changed once called.
Lady Luck's Favor (3rd Level)
The pact bearer gains Lady Luck's favor. Once per long rest, you may re-roll an ability check or saving throw and add your Charisma modifier and proficiency bonus. If both modifiers are already active, you may still re-roll the die.
Queen of Hearts
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed. You now roll general Charisma checks with advantage (does not include Persuasion, Deception, etc.).
Up the Ante (3rd Level)
Twice per long rest, you may gain advantage on an attack roll, plus an additional d4. The next attack against you gains advantage, plus an additional d4.
Deadwood
At great cost to yourself, you may pay off your debts. At the cost of 5 hit points, you may turn one playing card into 1d6 gold pieces. If this is performed with a regular card deck, the card is destroyed. If this is performed with a card from the Lady's deck, it reforms once the gold has been created.
Gambler's Survival Skills
At 6th level, once per long rest, you may roll a DC 12 Charisma check to cast Expeditious Retreat as a Bonus Action without expending a spell slot. You do not need to know the spell.
Old Hand
At 10th level, the Lady's deck grants the wielder increased skill. The additional weapon damage from the Lady's deck is increased to 3d4.
Cruel Lady Fate
At 14th level, if you roll a natural 13 for an attack, ability check, or saving throw on a d20, you must then roll a d6. On a 3-6, the 13 counts as a Natural 20. On a 1 or 2, the 13 counts as a Natural 1. You must make the d6 roll, but you may choose to ignore the Natural 20 and keep the 13. However, you may not ignore the Natural 1.
While this effect is active, your pact deck glows with Lady Luck's power. If the 13 converts to a Natural 20, the deck begins to float around your body. If the 13 converts to a Natural 1, the Lady's deck begins to crumble to ash, but is still usable.
