Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of Origami are crafters and storytellers. They have discovered a way to weave their magic into paper and create wondrous figurines and sculptures. This group is usually found on the grounds in fairs and festivals, telling stories with crafted puppets, or spinning tales of the sculptures they are making. These bards tire of hearing the woes of sad tales, and travel around to lend a hand to those in dire straits.
Crafting Wonder
Starting at 3rd level as an action you can turn any sheet of paper that does not have writing on it, into Origami Sheets. Origami Sheets are the sheets of paper needed to craft any sort of Origami, whether it be magical, or otherwise.
Origami Magic
Also at 3rd level you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration and spend a minute of crafting time using an Origami sheet to create an Origami figurine from the Origami Figurine List. After doing so a creature in possession of a figurine benefits from its effects for 1 hour. You can only have one figurine of each type active at a time, if you make two of the same figurine using this technique the first loses its magical properties. A creature can only benefit from one figurine at a time, if it posses multiple figurines, it only benefits from the first figurine it was given.
Origami Figurine List
- Crane - The creature bearing this figurine gains the luck of the crane, gaining a +1 bonus to attack rolls made with weapons.
- Ox - The creature bearing this figurine gains the vigor of the ox; it may role a die equal to your Bardic Inspiration and receive that amount.
- Turtle - The creature bearing this figurine gains the defense of the turtle, gaining a +1 to AC.
- Tiger - The creature bearing this figurine gains the power of the tiger, gaining a +1 to damage per attack.
- Owl - The creature bearing this figurine gains the insight of the owl, gaining a +1 to attack rolls made with spells.
- Cat - The creature bearing this figurine gains the dexterity of the cat, gaining a climbing speed equal to its walking speed.
- Dolphin - The creature bearing this figurine gains the swiftness of the dolphin, gaining a swimming speed equal to its walking speed.
- Fox - The creature bearing this figurine gains the perception of the fox, gaining Darkvision of 30 ft.
Dragon Folds
At 6th level you can expend the use of two Bardic Inspirations and spend a minute of crafting time with two Origami Sheets to create a Dragon figurine. By making use of different colors and intricate fold techniques you can create a resemblance to dragons of specific types. Choose from acid, cold, fire, lightning or poison when crafting to determine the magical effect.
- Dragon - The creature bearing this figurine gains the heart of the dragon, gaining resistance to (the type of damage chosen at the time of crafting).
Folding Frenzy
At 14th level you can expend four uses of your bardic inspiration and spend 5 minutes crafting with 10 Origami sheets, and create a number of figurines equal to your proficiency modifier. Figurines made in this way last 4 hours instead of 1 hour. Crafting in this way allows you more freedom, and you are able to create multiples of the same figurine while maintaining their magical effects. However any figurines you make during your Folding Frenzy cannot be crafted again until after you finish a long rest.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
