Blood Magic

Your innate magic stems from arcane power infused with your blood, the pure mana brewing under your skin. Perhaps this magic came from exposure to a harmful arcane surge or a wound from an enchanted blade. Whatever the case, you can harness this power by unleashing the boiling energy direct from your veins.

Pumping Magic

At 1st level, you can draw blood from yourself to unleash spells. As a bonus action, take 1d4 damage plus an additional d4 damage for each level the spell is above 1st, up to 5th level. As soon as you release your blood, cast the spell straight from the wound. You can use this ability once per short rest.

Enhanced Blood

Your blood boils with magic, infusing your very heart with heightened vitality. Your maximum health increases by an additional d4 every level.

Arcane Retribution

Starting at 6th level, whenever you are wounded you can take a reaction to cast one of your spells up to a level of a 1d4 roll, and the spell does not use up a spell slot. This ability cannot be used if the attack reduces your hitpoints to 0 and you can use this ability once per short rest.

Bleeding Mana

When you reach 14th level, your blood magic becomes more volatile, growing in power but also danger. Whenever you use sorcery points, you take 2d6 damage. However, every sorcery point is worth two.

Fatal Surge

At 18th level, your blood is bubbling with explosive arcane energy. Whenever your hitpoints reach 0, you can spend 4 (2) sorcery points to use any of your spells instantly. This does not use up a spell slot, as your magic escapes frantically from your dying form. If you use this feature, you cannot die instantly and will instead just go unconscious, regardless of how much damage was dealt.
