Performance Style

Performance Style

At 3rd level, you adopt a style of performing as your specialty. Choose one performancy style.

Acteur

When you attack with a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls. You must use the same modifier for both rolls.

Cascadeur

While you are wearing light armor, you can use your reaction to perform an acrobatic stunt allowing you to disengage and move 10ft.

Chanteur

When you are not wielding any weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with Cantrips.

Dramatic Scenes

At 3rd level, you learn to bring theatre to life by performing striking routines.

Exit Stage Left

As an action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to briefly step between the planes to prepare for your next scene. You teleport 30ft to an unoccupied space that you can see and regain hit points equal to the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die.

Embody The Role

As an action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cast disguise self, without expending a spell slot. Add the number rolled to the DC to dispel or see through the disguise.

Pull Focus

As an action, you step up and take the stage pulling all focus on you. A creature of your choice other than you, turns invisible until the start of your next turn or until they attack, make a damage roll, or force someone to make a saving throw. Expend a Inspiration die and add the number rolled to your AC until the start of your next turn.

Stage Partner

Every stage performer knows how important it is to have a strong supporting role.

At 6th level, you choose a creature to play a part in your performances. You and your partner gain benefits listed below. At the end of a long rest you can choose a different creature to act as your Stage Partner.

You and your partner gain the following benefits:

  • Your partner gains proficiency in performance.
  • Your partner can use a bonus action on their turn to gain one Bardic Inspiration die. This expends one use of your Bardic Inspiration.
  • Your partner can use their reaction to add half their Proficiency Bonus to any charisma ability check you make. Once they use this feature, you both must finish a short or long rest before using it again.

In addition you and your partner gain a benefit based on the performance style you selected at 3rd level.

Acteur

Your Stage Partner can react quickly to your cues. When you make a melee weapon attack, your partner can also make an attack using their reaction.

Chanteur

Your stage partner joins you in your performance, when you cast a cantrip, your partner can use their reaction to cast a non-damaging cantrip that you know.

Cascadeur

You and your stage partner can perform acrobatic stunts together. If your partner is at any point within 5th of you when you use your reaction to perform a stunt, they can use their reaction to disengage and move 10ft.

Dress rehearsal

Starting at 6th level, you can rehearse a specific action that uses an ability that you are proficient in with your Stage Partner for 1-5 hours, determined by the DM. The next time you perform the action you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Eye for Drama

Years of being on stage has given you a keen instinct for dramatic moments in life, you can use your magic to influence them.

Starting at 14th level, when a creature that you can see within 60ft of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, you can use your reaction to expend all your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling the dice and adding or subtracting the result from the total rolled by the creature. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the DM determines the result of the roll. The creature is immune if it can not hear you or if it it is immune to being charmed.

Once you use this feature, you can not use it again until you finish a long rest.
