Dragon

Receiving your dragon

Starting at 3rd level, you gain a dragon companion. Your dragon ages magically as you grow in power and size as you level in this class. When you gain this feature choose a dragon type based on your alignment, at least 1 axis of which you must share with the dragon. You also learn Draconic; if you already know Draconic, you may instead teach a language you know to your dragon. You also gain the feat Mounted Combatant with your dragon only, if it is large enough for you to ride. You also form a telepathic bond with your dragon and can now sense its moods, the dragon understands common and draconic but can't speak. Dragon Knights are known to wear armor in the fashion and color of their dragon. If your dragon dies, it can be resurrected using an 8-hour ritual. Although your dragon can't polymorph into a human, it can transform into a pseudodragon but keeps its hitpoints.

Draconic resistance

At 3rd level, your hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class. This also makes you immune to disease. (Cosmetic, up to DM) From time to time, your eyes may transform into those of a dragon (for a couple seconds), this can be annoying when talking to people.

Draconic affinity

At level 10, your power begins to manifest and as a result your body becomes covered with scales. You can speak, read, and write Draconic. Additionally, you crit at 19 and whenever you make a Charisma check when interacting with dragons, you add your proficiency bonus twice. You choose one type of dragon as your ancestor or patron and gain resistance to the damage type that is associated with the type of dragon you chose.

Dragon wings

At 18th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a bonus action on your turn.

You can't manifest your wings while wearing armor unless the armor is made to accommodate them, and clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them.

Mounted synergy

At 7th level, the bond with your dragon grows and you begin to fight as one. You may mount and dismount your dragon using only 5ft of movement, and you have advantage on the saving throw to be dismounted. You can also mount your dragon if you are the same size, but it cannot fly, swim, or burrow if so. The range at which you can communicate telepathically with your dragon extends to 500ft.

Elemental Breath

At 15th level, you gain the ability to use breathe attack of your dragon. You can use any breathe attack available to your dragon, and it must recharge (5-6) rounds. You can use this up to a number of times between long rests equal to your proficiency bonus. The damage dealt and DC is based on if your dragon used this attack at your size. The range of your telepathic communication with your dragon extends to 50 miles.

Build a dragon

Your dragon's level scales based on your fighter level. It begins with 2d8+6 hit points, and each time it levels up it gains hit points equal to the maximum value of its hit die plus 2. The new hit die your dragon gains as it levels up does not affect previous health gained, but all previously gained hit die now match the highest value. The dragon has an initial AC of 13 + its Dexterity Modifier. As it levels up, the base AC of 13 increases. The dragon can use its breathe attack a number of times between long rests equal to its proficiency bonus, and it must recharge for (5-6) rounds. The DC for the breath weapon is 10 + its Proficiency Bonus + its Constitution Modifier, and the area of impact changes as the dragon grows in size. The ability scores of your dragon start with the following values, assigned at your choice: 18, 16, 14, 14, 12, 10.
