Base Class: Artificer
Magic comes in many forms, from arcane to druidic, divine to chemical; rune magic channels arcane power into a physical space, this binds the magic into the material world and empowering it. Runesmiths have mastered this art of the physically binding, channelling their arcane abilities into both offensive and defensive runes that store immense measures of magical might.
Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with mason's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Runesmith Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Runesmith Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Runic Defences
Beginning at 3rd level, you learn the equally defensive and offensive powers magics channelled through runes. When a creature wihin 30 feet that is holding one of your infusions is targetted by an attack, you can use your reaction to grant that creature a bonus to its AC equal to your Intelligence modifier against that attack. If the attack still hits, the attacking creature takes force damage equal to your artificer level.
You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Artificery Bastion
At 5th level, you can stand your ground against your foes advances. Whenever you cast a spell using your mason's tools as the spellcasting focus, you gain a +2 bonus to your armor class and saving throws until the start of your next turn or you move.
Improved Glyph Of Warding
Starting at 9th level, you learn to instantaneously create powerful runes of destruction. When you cast the glyph of warding spell, the spell gains the following benefits:
- You can cast the spell as an action instead of its usual casting time, when you do so you can only choose the Explosive Runes option
- You can cast it using only half the required material components.
If you cast the spell in this way the spell fades ends after 1 minute.
Runic Beacon
By 15th level, you have emblazoned your rune magic upon your very body, becoming shielded against with arcane power. As an action, you force each creature of your choice within 90 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a creature can only target you with attacks until the end of your next turn. If an affected creature hits you with an attack, you have resistance to all that attack's damage.
You have two uses of this ability, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
