Base Class: Monk
The Balance can be found in all things, encompassing and subsuming all of life and beyond. When one thing dies, another is born; when a devil is created, so is an angel; when a God blesses his flock, so too does a demon prince gather his cult. Monks who follow the way of the Balance see the multiverse as a cosmic scale, to be carefully maintained and ordered, but not influenced too much to one side or the other.
Adherents to the Way of the Balance can often seem aloof or disinterested in the goings-on of the world outside their walls, but that is more to do with the grander cosmic nature of their tradition than any callousness or apathy to the state of the world. The Way of the Balance gets a bad reputation in some circles due to their willingness to allow Evil to exist and thrive in the world, so long as an equal amount of Good is being done.
The Way of the Balance calls upon its practitioners to maintain the careful neutrality of the multiverse, adding Good or Evil into the equation wherever one can be found lacking. The monasteries who teach this tradition also teach their pupils to love unconditionally but not covetously, to open themselves to all of the greatness of life, but not to be overtaken by passions or desires.
Those who follow the Way of the Balance with a true heart find that they can manipulate the world around them in subtle ways; pushing or pulling objects, influencing people and creatures, and augmenting their own abilities through concentration, training, and meditation. Some truly adept adherents find they can manipulate the elements and speak mind-to-mind, even some going so far as to see the future.
Expanded Consciousness
An initiate in the Way of the Balance has opened themselves to the world and become more aware of the ebb and flow of the energy that surrounds and sustains all life, immersing themselves in it and allowing it to guide their thoughts and senses. The initiate’s senses are sharpened and they become more aware of their surroundings and their company.
Force Sensitive
The initiates of the Way of the Balance learn to open their mind and soul to the life-energy that flows through all living things and surrounds them. By focusing their ki through that energy they gain the ability to manipulate the world around them in subtle ways, influencing people and objects to their will.
Do or Do Not
As your power grows and you become more and more in tune with the Balance, the initiate learns to manipulate the physical world in more direct ways.
One With the Force
The masters of the Way of the Balance have dedicated their lives to its maintenance and have become so immersed in the life-energy of the universe that they can command it to powerful ends.
