Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Balance can be found in all things, encompassing and subsuming all of life and beyond. When one thing dies, another is born; when a devil is created, so is an angel; when a God blesses his flock, so too does a demon prince gather his cult. Monks who follow the way of the Unified Cosmos see the multiverse as a cosmic scale, to be carefully maintained and ordered, but not influenced too much to one side or the other.

Adherents to the Way of the Unified Cosmos can often seem aloof or disinterested in the goings-on of the world outside their walls, but that is more to do with the grander cosmic nature of their tradition than any callousness or apathy to the state of the world. The Way of the Balance gets a bad reputation in some circles due to their willingness to allow Evil to exist and thrive in the world, so long as an equal amount of Good is being done.

The Way of the Universal Cosmos calls upon its practitioners to maintain the careful neutrality of the multiverse, adding Good or Evil into the equation wherever one can be found lacking. The monasteries who teach this tradition also teach their pupils to love unconditionally but not covetously, to open themselves to all of the greatness of life, but not to be overtaken by passions or desires.

Those who follow the Way of the Unified Cosmos with a true heart find that they can manipulate the world around them in subtle ways; pushing or pulling objects, influencing people and creatures, and augmenting their own abilities through concentration, training, and meditation. Some truly adept adherents find they can manipulate the elements and speak mind-to-mind, even some going so far as to see the future.

Force Sensitive

The initiates of the Way of the Unified Cosmos learn to open their mind and soul to the life-energy that flows through all living things and surrounds them. By focusing their ki through that energy they gain the ability to manipulate the world around them in subtle ways, influencing people and objects to their will.

When you choose this tradition starting at level 3, you gain proficiency in the Wisdom (Insight) and Wisdom (Perception) skills.
You also gain the ability to spend 2 ki points to cast the spells Suggestion, Magic Missile, or Enhance Ability. You also learn the Mage Hand cantrip if you don't already know it.

Do or Do Not

Devoted followers of the Way of the Unified Cosmos find themselves growing more in tune with the rhythm of the universe. They have honed their bodies and minds to a razor sharpness capable of sensing the invisible fault lines that crisscross reality and have learned how to apply pressure to them in just the right way, giving them the ability to generate devastating attacks against their opponent and to influence the fabric of the world around them for short periods of time.

When you reach 11th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into more powerful effects on the world around you. As a bonus action, you can spend a ki point to give your next attack with your chosen weapon advantage.

You also gain the ability to spend 3 ki points to cast the spell Telekinesis as an action.

One With the Force

Those few who attain the highest levels of learning the Unified Cosmos offers eventually find themselves facing the choice to walk in the Light or the Dark.

Ashla

The Balance of the Cosmos lies in the interplay between Light and Dark, Ashla and Bogon. The Ashla represents Life, Healing, and Serenity while the Bogon represents Death, Conflict, and Passion

Devotees of the Light strive to maintain the Balance by healing unnatural blights and defending Good from its constant attacks by Evil. When you choose the Ashla at 17th level you gain the ability to use a bonus action to spend your ki points to heal one creature you can see by 1d6 per ki point, to a maxmium of half your monk level.

Additionally, all attacks made with your Sentinel weapon do an extra 1d6 Radiant damage on a hit.

Bogon

Followers of the Bogan take a cynical view of the universe, seeing their mandate to protect the Balance as one to maintain the status quo. They see the world as soft and unprepared for the cosmic dangers that await just outside of their view.

Devotees of the Dark strive to maintain the Balance by equalizing the world around them and attempting to carve away all that is unbalanced. When you choose the Bogan at 17th level you gain the ability to use a bonus action to spend your ki points to inflict 1d6 necrotic damage per ki point on a creature you can touch, to a maximum of half your monk level.

Additionally, all attacks made with your chosen weapon do an extra 1d6 necrotic damage on a hit.

Sentinel of Balance

The Way of the Unified Cosmos is a philosophy of peace and order, but even the most ardent pacifist knows that one occasion combat must be joined. Followers of the Unified Cosmos believe that they must balance their peaceful ideals with a will and arm of iron, and so they train in the art of quick, graceful weapons that can be wielded in only one hand.

Expanded Consciousness

Through years of careful study and steady practice, you have learned to open your mind to the world around you while in combat, becoming more aware of your surroundings and sharpening your focus and body.

When you reach 6th level you gain the ability to spend a ki point to touch any creature and extract some amount of information from it about itself. If the target creature is unwilling, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw to avoid the touch. On a successful contact, roll a d20. The DM will tell you a selection of stats for the creature based on your roll.

When you reach 14th level, you may roll with advantage for information.
