Base Class: Wizard
These wizards specialize in using a ritual dagger to cast their spells, even using it as a familiar.
Spell Dagger
By holding a dagger for 24 hours, that dagger becomes bonded to you. This dagger keeps its bond until you undergo the bonding ritual with another non-magical dagger. You gain the following abilities with this dagger:
- You may use your reaction to summon the dagger to your hand, provided it is on the same plane as you.
- You may use this dagger as an arcane focus.
- This dagger gains an additional 1d4 damage at 5th (2d4), 11th (3d4), and 17th (4d4) level.
Daggerspell Stance
While weilding a dagger, you gain the following bonuses to your combat ability.
- You Armor class can can be calculated as 10+Intelligence modifier+Dexterity modifier.
- You gain bonus attack action with daggers only when you cast a spell as an action.
Dagger Familiar
Use your Spell Dagger, as a familiar when you cast find familiar. It has HP equal to your INT modifier, AC equal to 10 + your INT modifier, and a flying speed of 40 feet.
This dagger can not attack, but it may be used to deliver a touch spell, as described below:
When you sacrifice a reaction to cast a spell through your familiar, roll to hit using the same attack roll as your Spell Dagger. If you succeed, roll damage before the spell's effect. If the spell requires a saving throw, the target has disadvantage if it took damage from the dagger.
You also gain the Find Familiar spell if you don't already have it. Furthermore, you may cast Find Familiar once per long rest without using a spell slot.
Your Spell Dagger now counts as magical for overcoming damage resistance.
Dual Spell Dagger
You gain a second Spell Dagger. If you use the attack action with your Spell Dagger, you gain a bonus attack with your other Spell Dagger, provided it is not being used as a familiar.
Dagger Familiar Improvement
Use your second Spell Dagger when you cast find familiar to create a dagger familiar. When casting a spell through the dagger familiar, you may choose to divide the spell's effect in half and send it through both daggers.
In addition, you may now cast area, cone, or line effects using the dagger familiar(s) as the original location. Roll to hit the target and deal the dagger's damage before the spell effects. If a target is hit by the dagger, it has disadvantage on any saving throw required by the spell.
In the case of a line, you must use the line between dagger familiars as the line of effect, beginning at one and ending at another. The total distance covered can not be more than the spell is capable of crossing.
