Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Souls play their music not for the living, but for the dead.

Known as grave minstrels, these bards combine funeral rites with music to shepherd lost souls into the afterlife, and putting them to rest, willingly or not. Their eerie music and strong association with death often cause grave minstrels to be feared by common folk, meaning they often have to leave town once their work is done.

Lament of the Lost

At 3rd level, you can sense the presence of undead, in the form or a somber melody. As an action, you can open your senses to magically detect undead. Until the end of your next turn, you can “hear” the presence of all undead within 60 feet of you that aren’t hidden from divination magic.

This sense doesn’t tell you anything about a creature’s capabilities or identity.

This can be used equal times to your wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Can be used once per short rest.

Soothe the Soul

At 3rd level, you learn how to calm the undead. By using one use of your bardic inspiration, you can charm twice the number of undead as your charisma modifier. An undead that has been charmed regains their sense of self, and will not attack you but will not defend you from attacks either. A target that befriended you in life might subvert the latter. The undead remain charmed for 2 hours, after which they revert back.

Slayer of the Strayed

At 6th level, you leant to focus your power when fighting undead.

You do not roll the damage die against undead enemies, but instead use the highest number possible for the die.

Concerto of Passage

At 14th level, you have gained the skill to send spirits to the afterlife.

Using one of your Bardic Inspirations, you gather the spirits of all undead within 60 feet of you, and sends them to their respective afterlives. This kills skeletons and zombies. You must spend 3 rounds continuously playing to succeed. During this time, all undead are mesmerized, and can’t move. Once the concert is finished, you gain 3 points of exhaustion.

Can be used once per long rest.
