Circle of Catnip

A love of nature is intrinsic to any druid, but druids joining the Circle of Catnip love very particular aspects of nature. Namely, sunshine, the ability to transform and commune with great feline creatures, and the cultivation of catnip itself. A Catnip Druid is likely to be found basking for hours in the sunlight, only to suddenly sprint off to a random location with their claws drawn.

Cat’s Meow

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to converse with beasts and create catnip charms to befriend felines of all sorts. Beasts of all sizes can understand your speech, and you gain the ability to decipher their noises and motions. If the creature is a feline (displacer beast, cat, lion, panther, tressym, etc.) they perceive you as friendly unless you attack or otherwise provoke them. During Short and Long rests, you can make a number of catnip charms equal to your druid level, and though they have no monetary value, they are very interesting to feline creatures! 

Whiskers to Tail

Starting at level 2, if transforming into a feline creature, you may wild shape as a bonus action. Additionally, you can use your Wild Shape to transform into a feline creature with a challenge rating as high as 1. 

Starting at 10th level, you can transform into a feline creature with a challenge rating as high as your druid level divided by 3, rounded down. You are no longer limited to beasts, as long as the creature is feline. 

All normal Wild Shape rules apply when you change into non-feline forms.

Circle Spells

Your deep connection to catnip, sunlight, and the feline world gives you access to additional spells.

Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

You gain the light cantrip

Cultivating Catastrophe

At 6th level, you become a master cultivator of catnip. You learn how to brew catnip potions, poisons, and bombs. During a long or short rest, you may brew a number of catnip potions up to your Wisdom modifier. You can carry a number of catnip potions up to your Druid level. Whenever you utilize a catnip creation on yourself or another creature, roll 1d4 and refer to the following table to determine the effect.  

At 8th level, when you are imbibing catnip yourself, you may roll twice on the Catnip Potion Effect table and choose between the two results. At 10th level, you may also do so for another creature imbibing a catnip potion. 

Catnip Potion Effect Table

Roll	Result
1	Snore! The drinker must succeed on a Constitution saving throw vs. your Druid spell save or fall asleep for one minute or until they take damage or are awakened by other means. If they sleep for a full minute, they receive the benefit of a short rest, as per the catnap spell.
2	Zoom! The drinker’s movement speed is doubled,and they gain an additional attack when they take the Attack action. These effects last for one minute.
3	Attack! The drinker must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw vs. your Druid spell save or move in a randomly determined direction and make a melee attack against the nearest target.
4	Colors! The drinker’s Perception bonus is doubled for the next ten minutes. They must make a Charisma saving throw vs. your Druid spell save DC. On a failure, they become overwhelmed by stimuli and move at half speed for the next ten minutes.

Sunbath

At 10th level, your connection to the sun infuses you and your loved ones. For each hour you spend in sunlight, you or a creature of your choice regain one spent hit die. You do not need to be resting to gain this effect.

Feline Felicity

At 14th level, you have synthesized harmony from nature. Your wild shape attacks count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities. Additionally, you cannot be frightened or poisoned and once per day, you may choose which effect a catnip potion has on the creature that consumes it.
