Base Class: Fighter
Bonded Blade Fighters bond to their weapon in a ritual, infusing it with their soul. Most Bonded Blade Fighters stick with one weapon for their entire adventuring career, cementing both the blade and themselves among legend.
Forge Bond
All Bonded Blade fighters begin by forming a spiritual connection with their weapon of choice in a ritual. Beginning at level 3, you may spend a short rest bonding a melee weapon to your soul to empower it, gaining the following benefits
-Attacks with this weapon are considered magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance
-You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this weapon. This bonus goes up to +2 at level 10 and +3 at level 15. If your weapon already has a bonus like this, you must chose which one to use.
-You can summon your weapon to your open hand as a bonus action, calling it from anywhere on the plane.
-Any magical abilities of your weapon are powered by your soul, persisting through anti magic effects.
-You are aware of your weapon at all times. When not holding your weapon, you may use your action to perceive its surroundings. You gain a 10ft blindsight centered on your weapon. While active you are unaware of your own surroundings. You may end this at any time
Soul Strike
Beginning at level 3, your bond with your weapon grants you the ability to quickly strike at creatures well out of your range. You may use a bonus action to make a melee weapon attack with your bonded weapon, you can choose a creature you can see within 60ft. You make the attack against that creature regardless of distance or cover as a spectral image of your weapon shoots forth to attack them. On a hit, the attack does force damage instead of its normal type. You can use this ability up to your wisdom modifier number of times, recharging on a short or long rest.
Animated Blade
Beginning at level 7, your time weapon begins to pick up on your abilities guiding your movements to aid you in battle. As a bonus action, you may strength your connection with your blade, allowing it to aid you. Choose one of the options below which last for a minute. You may use this feature a number of times up to your wisdom modifier, recharging on a long rest.
-Parrying Blade, Your weapon leaps to defend from attacks before you even notice they are there. While holding your weapon, you gain a +2 bonus to AC.
-Powerful Blade, Your weapon strikes with enhanced force, pushing your enemies back. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack using your weapon, you may make a shove attack against them as a bonus action.
-Opportunistic Blade, Your weapon guides you to attack a momentary weakness in an enemy's defense. Whenever a creature within 5ft of you misses and attack or fails a saving throw, you may take an opportunity attack against them using your weapon.
-Striking Blade, Your weapon moves to attack the enemy where it can do the most damage. While holding your weapon, you crit on a 19 or 20
-Far Blade, Your weapon guides your soul energy efficiently. While holding your weapon, you can use your soul strike feature without expending any charges.
-Guiding Blade, Your weapon guides your strikes to hit even when you would otherwise miss. While holding your weapon you have a +2 to attack rolls.
Empowered Blade
Beginning at level 10, you have learned to pour your soul into your blade, slowing yourself but empowering its attacks. Whenever you take the attack action, you may choose to forgo one of your extra attacks to grant your first attack 1d12 force bonus to damage. You may forgo as many attacks as you have, granting an extra 1d12 for each one. The bonus only applies to your first attack.
Imbued Blade
Beginning at level 15, your weapon is a large part of you now, soul energy bleeding off of it even without touching yo ur enemy. Whenever you miss a creature with an attack using your bonded blade, you deal 1d4 force damage instead.
Living Blade
Beginning at level 18, your own own attacks and your blade's guiding movements are indistinguishable now. You are the same. Whenever you use your animated blade feature, you may choose two effects to have active instead of one.
