Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Controlled Body have studied the body to great extent. Learning to channel their Ki to manipulate their physical form. Their studies allow them to lash out at great distance or harden their resolve for defense. The more experienced of these monks can transform their bodies into powerful forms or even resist death itself.
Expand and Control Body
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, as an action, you can use your ki to alter your body.
Expand: You can spend 2 ki points to gain the Enlarge effect of the enlarge/reduce.
Control: You can spend 2 ki points to gain the effects of either the Aquatic Adaptation or Change Appearance effects of the alter self.
Each ability lasts for the duration specified by the spell. These effects require concentration.
Harden Skin
Beginning at 3rd level when you are hit with a melee attack you can use your reaction to immediately spend a ki point to harden your body at the point of contact helping to reduce some of the damage. When you do this you gain resistance to piecing, bludgeoning, and slashing damage until the start of your next turn.
Elastic Limbs
Starting at 6th level you learn to stretch you body beyond its normal limits. Your limbs can stretch out and strike at distance granting you 5 additional feet of reach for all melee attacks.
Ki Transformation
Starting at 11th level you have harnessed your ki's ability to manipulate your body in extreme ways. As an action you can spend 3 ki points to enter Ki Transformation for 1 minute. While in this form you gain the following abilities:
- You gain 50 Temporary hit points.
- You have advantage on attack rolls made with unarmed strikes.
- When you hit a target with an unarmed strike you deal an additional 2 martial arts die of force damage.
- When you take the Attack Action you may make 1 additional attack as part of this action.
- You have advantage on Constitution Saving Throws.
Ki Transformation requires concentration. Once this ability ends you must immediately make a Constitutions Saving Throw(DC 15) or take a point of exhaustion on a failed save. If you use this ability again before taking a long rest you gain 2 additional points of exhaustion on a failed save and 3 additional points for every use after that on a failed save.
Unyielding Endurance
Beginning at 17th level you learn to channel your ki into a surge of power at your weakest moments. As an bonus action you can revitalize your body, when you do this you can spend ki points to remove levels of exhaustion (3 ki points per level removed).
Last Stand
When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you may choose to instead be reduced to 1 hit point and immediately gain a turn. During this turn you are immune to all types of damage. When the turn ends you must make a Constitution Saving Throw(DC 15) or gain 3 points of exhaustion on a failed save. The DC increases by 5 every time you uses this ability. The DC resets to 15 after a long rest.
