Base Class: Monk
"When the mind is clear and free, the body's physical limitations become nothing more than another distraction". No other sentence can better describe the monks praticing the Way of the Unchained Body.
These monks' training specialize in honing their physical and mental flexiblity, allowing them to gracefully perform acrobatic feats, contort themselves into various bizzare shapes and positions and even dislocate parts of their body with little effort. They can also utilize Ki to amplify their flexiblity further, or open up their allies' minds and bodies to their own potential capablities.
While this Way's martial techniques are taught as a pathway to inner enlightenment, many who follow it have found many different, potentially profitable ways to put their skills to use in the outside world, such as acrobats and contortionists in circuses, vigilantes, or even burglars and thieves.
At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Unchained Body Monk Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.
Unchained Body Monk Quirks
d6 - Quirk
1 - You have a guilty pleasure of showing off your acrobaic and contortionist skills to everyone you meet
2 - You prefer meditating while bended up in extreme poses.
3 - You have grown used to using your feet as hands.
4 - You very often find yourself casually doing things such as stand-up splits, walking in bridge pose or on your hands almost subconsciously.
5 - You find the fact most people are nowhere close to your levels of flexiblity saddening.
6 - You fight like you're in a circus performance and just as elegantly.
Acrobatic Grace
At 3rd level, your training in the techniques of body flexiblity can give you the edge when the sitation calls.
You gain proficency in Dexterity (Acrobatics) and Charisma (Performance). If you are already proficent in either of those skills, you instead gain Expertise.
Additionally, when you make a Dexterity skill check or saving throw, you may spend 1 Ki point to gain advantage for it.
Serpent's Contortion
At 6th level, you can contort and twist your body into unimaginable shapes and fit into places many would consider impossible.
You can fit your body into a space as small as 2 feet cube and attempt to Hide with cover of that size. You can also move through the space of creatures of your size category or larger.
Every moment Matters
At 6th level, you can take advantage of brief moments of an opponent's lack of attention to make a swift and smooth movement, avoiding danger.
When a hostile creature within 5 feet of you is attacked by your allies or is hit by your attack, you may use your reaction to move 5 feet in any direction without provoking an opportunity attack from that creature. If you can attack multiple times in a turn, such as with Extra Attack or Flurry of Blows, you can use this feature in-between the attacks or after them.
Group Effort
At 11th level, your graceful presence can inspire your friends into reaching their own limits.
As an action, you can spend 4 Ki points to give you and other friendly creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you advantage on all skill checks made within the next minute.
Boundless Flexiblity
At 17th level, your body has become so flexible, you can manipulate even the bones and organs inside your body to avoid harm, twisting it into almost unnatural froms that are terrifying to watch.
When you would be hit by an attack or a spell attack, you can use your reaction to gain a +5 bonus to your AC until the start of the attacker's turn.
Additionally, as a bonus action, you can dislocate a part of your body. This can include anything from folding into and from a disturbing position, bending a body part to en extreme proportion or even turning your neck 360 degrees and back. Each creature of your choice within 30 of you that can see you must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC. If the creature fails its saving throw, it becomes frightened of you for 1 minute, or until it takes damage.
You may use each ability a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (Minimum of once). You regain all expanded uses when you finish a long rest.
