Base Class: Warlock
A coven of powerful hags or witches or a single legendary hag or witch is your patron. These pacts are often used to gain power, but some warlocks prefer to use the curing powers of nature to help others. Exemples for hag patrons are Medea, Lilith, Baba Yaga or the Norns.
Expanded Spell List
The Ancient Hag lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Witch Focus
Starting at 1st level, your patron bestows upon you the ability to create a Witch Focus. To create such a Focus you need 1 hour of time, a hair, a drop of blood and the name of the target it will be linked to. A Witch Focus is always linked to that one specific target.
To use the Witch Focus you have to attune yourself to it. Once attuned your spell attacks gain advantage when attacking the linked target while your using the Witch Focus. The linked target also has disadvantage on all saves it makes against your spells.
Finders Keepers
Starting at 6th level, you can use your Witch Focus to locate the linked target. As an action you know the direction the target is in and the rough distance to it. You also get general information about it's health and conditions. If the target is on another plane of existence you know on what plane it is, but you do not know where until you travel there yourself.
Prophecy
Beginning at 10th level, your patron teaches you how to read the strands of fate. Using this power you can make three prophecies. You have to take a long rest to use this feature again. These prophecies can be spread out over several targets if you wish. A single target can only ever use three of these prophecies in it's life.At any point in the future the target can use up one prophecy to an answer to a direct question. If the GM wishes that answer can be cryptic, but it must be helpful.
Example: If looking for a killer, it coulb be that the prophecy doesn't directly tell you who the killer is, but it should at least lead you to an important clue.
Inescapable Fate
Starting at 14th level, you can use your Witch Focus to cast any spell on the linked target, as long as it isn't a cantrip, an area spell or a spell requiring an attack roll. The range restrictions are ignored for spells cast in this way but the casting time is prolonged by 10 minutes. If the target needs to hear or see you for the spell to work, it will hear your voice and / or see a hazy image of you gesturing.
Your absolutely right about that. Besides "prophecy" all other powers require the witch focus which makes these special powers useless in normal combat situations. That being said, the warlock still has all his usuall abilities and can "eldritch blast" his enemies as usual :)
The special powers (while hard to pull off) are relatively powerful. But yeah, it's more an NPC thingy. My NPC witches usually offer their prophecy service in exchange for a single drop of blood and a strand of hair (the name is usually exchanged during introductions). Seems like a fair exchange for some ;)
I love the flavor of this and the way you've made mechanics for classic witch like abilities. Main problem that would keep me from playing it is essentially everything is dependent on creating a witch focus, and that requires the targets hair, blood, and name. Those things won't usually be easy to obtain. So before you have that, and for any other creature you don't have it for, you don't have a whole lot you can do.
