Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Weave Breakers know the dangers that powerful arcane and divine magic can bring. They have studied it, firsthand on the blood-filled battlefield and through intense study in the grandest libraries. While they do not naturally possess any magical ability, the training received has prepared Weave Breakers for the most dangerous of circumstances. They seek out those who have abused their magical gift and either correct their ways or lay them to waste. These fighters rely on their quick wit, reflexes, and experience to preserve balance.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in either the Arcana or Religion skill (your choice).

Arcana

You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill.

Religion

You gain proficiency in the Religion skill.

Spell Render

Starting at 3 level, your magical knowledge has given you an edge when avoiding certain kinds of spells and striking down those who cast them. You have a pool of d4s equal to 1 + half your Fighter level (rounded down).

As a reaction, you can expend a d4 from this pool when you are forced to make a saving throw against a spell or add to your armor class when you are a target of a spell attack.

Alternatively, you can expend d4s from this pool when dealing damage to a creature with spellcasting or innate spellcasting features. When you d4s from this pool, you can roll an amount up to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1) per round.

Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish a long rest.

Signs of the Spellcaster

Starting at 7 level, if you spend 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside combat, you learn certain information about its capabilities by recalling knowledge about the creature or observing their specific spell components. The DM tells you which spells, if any, the creature can cast. The number of spells the DM tells you is 1d4, expending the die from your Spell Render dice pool.

Improved Spell Render

Starting at 10th level, your Spell Render dice turn into d6s. Additionally, when you use your Second Wind ability you regain half expended Spell Render Dice.

Studious Advantage

At 15th level, your study of magic has strengthened your mental capacities. You have gained proficiency in Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throws (your choice).

Studious Advantage - Charisma

You gain proficiency in Charisma saving throws.

Studious Advantage - Intelligence

You gain proficiency in Intelligence saving throws.

Studious Advantage - Wisdom

You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.

Arcane Disruption

Starting at 18 level, whenever you hit a target with a weapon attack you can break the magic affecting it. As one of your attacks when taking the Attack action, you can cast dispel magic at a spell level equal to an amount of dice in your Spell Render pool (maximum of 9) without expending a spell slot. When casting dispel magic this way, those Spell Render dice are expended and Intelligence is your Spellcasting Ability.
