Base Class: Monk
Ancient Dragon Lords would occasionally select and train mortals to become their Honor Guard and act as liaisons with the outside worlds. This was a high honor among mortals and is no easy role. These mortals would often take after the ideals of their Dragon Lord and learn to execute what few draconic techniques their mortal body could withstand. Having to spend years and sometimes centuries mastering these skills, they were known as Monks. Monks that follow the Way of the Dragon.
Dragon's fang
Starting at level 3, the monk can attune their Ki to match the element of a known dragon. The Monk may channel their ki in to Flurry of Blows dealing elemental damage to the target. The damage dealt is equal to 1d4 per ki point spent, up to a maximum equal to 1/4 the Monks level. The type of damage is based off of the Breath Weapon of a Draconic Ancestory, excluding poison.
Sharp Eyes, Cunning Mind
Monks following the Way of the Dragon are trained to read the subtle body language of the many races to predict when and where enemies will attack. A Dragon's Honor Guard must have the ability to perceive attacks before they occur and act accordingly.
At level 3, The monk is granted the following:
- The ability to spend a ki point to take the Dodge action, hide, or disengage as a bonus action.
- The ability spend two ki points and add +2 to ac and gain resistance other all non-magical attacks and until the end of their next turn as a reaction.
Dragon's Might
Monks who train in the Way of the Dragon gradually alter their Ki to closely resemble a dragon's. Upon spending Ki points, the Monks skin hardens and resembles dragon scales, allowing weaker blows to glance off without leaving so much as a scratch.
At level 6, After using a Ki point, the Monk gains +5 to AC for 1 minute.
Empowered Dragon's Breath
A Dragonborn may be able to use their natural Breath Weapon, however a Monk trained in the Way of the Dragon can empower this trait and increase its destructive capabilities using their Ki.
Spend 3 Ki points to channel and exhale destructive energy matching the Draconic Ancestory of any Dragon that you know. Empowered Breath Weapon deals damage in either a 60 ft line or a 35 ft cone.
At level 6 the monk can spend 3 ki points to channel their energy in to a breath attack. That deals 3d8 of elemental damage based off of the breath weapons of a dragon, such as fire, ice, poison, electricity, acid. Breath scales at level 8 (4d8), 11 (5d8), 15 (6d8), 17 (8d8).
When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your Proficiency Bonus. A creature will take full damage on a filed save, and half damage on successful a successful.
Draconic Speed
When a Monk becomes a member of an Honor Guard, they are required to be able to defend from areal threats as well as terrestrial threats. With sufficient training, a Monk can Channel Ki to create wings and a tail that resemble a dragon's.
Spend 3 Ki points to manifest wings and a tail, granting the ability of flight. Flight speed is equal to movement speed
Dragons Ferocity
