Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards from the College of Production are the unseen heroes within the bardic world. They each hold their own style when it comes to their craft. The thing that is the same with these bards, though, are their needs to help enhance the experience of their performer companions. They weave their magic in order to bring to life their performer's ideas. This can be through giving an actor dramatic lighting for their monologue, or even imbuing their allies with directions and movements in order to make for a perfect performance. They don't care for the glory of it all, but appraisal isn't something they don't want. However, without it, they can still be an amazing addition to any part.

Let Them Shine!

Whenever any ally the bard can see or hear within 30 feet rolls below a 10 for a charisma, performance, or deception, that check is treated as a 9.

Bringing Ideas to Light

Bards who devote themselves to this college learn ways to weave their magic into their form of art. In terms of this ability, their bardic inspirations put a spotlight on others, giving different effects based on who receives and uses them.

  • Effect on allies: When giving this globe to an ally, they are able to use it like normal. However, when they do, they are revealed to enemies, as a pillar of light forms around them and only them. This pillar reveals the ally if in stealth/if they are invisible. Until the end of their next turn, all enemies that attack the ally will have a number equal to the bard's charisma bonus subtracted from their roll.
  • Effect on Enemies: Unlike other bards, those with the college of production can give enemies the same exact benefits as their allies, when it comes to bardic inspiration. These enemies can use the bardic inspiration like normal, but the pillar of light will then form over them. The pillar will reveal the enemy from stealth/invisibility. They will then remain revealed until the end of their next turn. As well as this, all allies will gain the bard's proficiency bonus to their attack rolls against the creature.

The Motion Incentive

At 6th level, Bards of Production gain more range in their craft, learning the ways of human movement on stage during performances, as well as ways to incentivize allies to listen to them. A bard is able to give up a bardic inspiration and action in order to weave their words into the ground, creating a 5 diameter circle within 30 feet of them. The bard cannot choose to put this circle under an ally. Instead, it has to be at least 10 feet away from one. If an ally steps on this circle, they are given temporary hit points based on the bard's level. As well as this, the ally gains the ability to use an attack as a bonus action if they didn't use one for their action. This circle can be used a number of times equal to the bard's charisma bonus. At the end of your next turn, if no ally is in the motion incentive then the circle dissipates. If an ally does step on it, though, the bard can move the circle using their own movement speed. However, the rules of placement still apply to movement.

The Motto

Also at 14th level, you learn the motto of this college. "Your talents are seen, even if they aren't appreciated by those you use them on." This is the holy grail of the college, and it's what keeps them going.  Whenever the bard says the motto, they are able to use 2 bardic inspiration based actions within a bonus action. This line does not take up any actions, bonus actions, or etc. However, it cannot be used infinitely. A bard can only use this motto once every long rest, or short rest
