Base Class: Monk

Through deep meditation in tall frozen mountains, you trained your mind to endure immense pain. Everyday you would wake up and train for hours on end. It was you and nature. After years you learned how to communicate and isolate targets through telepathy. You further honed this skill until you could manifest pain in another creatures mind as a scythe. Maybe you wander the earth cleansing the minds of the tainted. Maybe you drive people insane. Maybe you live to continue growing as a person. Whatever the reason you never give up... Those who choose this path will never be the same. They are altered mentally and generally show either great calm at all moments, or intense anger and madness. Be careful where you tread, and walk quietly for you never know when you might die.

 

Phantom Strike

Starting at 3rd level you have managed to be able to penetrate the defense of the mind and inflict wounds to single targets. as a bonus action, when you make eye contact or physical contact with a creature you can challenge their mind for 1 Ki point. The creature rolls a d20, on a roll of 14 or higher the creature succeeds and breaks free from your challenge. On a fail, you can make 3d4 attacks psychic damage with your scythe. If the creature takes more than 10 damage during this exchange, they are frightened for 1 minute. However, if the creature succeeds on the challenge, then you must make a wisdom saving throw of 12 or higher or gain 2 points of exhaustion. The damage increases by 1d4 at 6th, 11th, and 17th levels.

Additionally, at 3rd level you can communicate telepathically with any creature within 30 ft of you as long as they speak a language and you can cast the spell cause fear twice per short or long rest.

Phantom Clone

Starting at 6th level you've learned to project your mind and soul outward to fight alongside you. As a bonus action you can spend 2 ki points to make a phantom clone of yourself that can not be targeted by attacks but can be dispelled. The clone stays for 1 minute and mirrors any actions you take. The clone's damage is type is psychic and projectiles do not pass through the clone.

Soul Crunch

Starting at 11th level you can consume the soul of those who die near you. Whenever someone dies within 30 feet of you, you may consume their soul to restore 1 ki point and 1d8 hitpoints, you can use this ability equal to 1/2 your monk level (rounded down) per short or long rest.

Limbo

At 17th level you've learned to isolate your targets. Once per short or long rest you can take one creature within 30 feet of you into your mind space for 2 minutes, or until you dismiss the ability for one action. While in this area your attacks deal 1.5 times damage and you gain advantage on attacks. If you critically strike it deals half the damage in psychic damage.
