Base Class: Monk
Jamen's always had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a fascination with reactions to pain and suffering before death. When he was a boy, he experimented on small animals. Now as a man trained in the ways of a monk, he can conduct his dark experiments on any unlucky enough to draw his gaze.
Dracolich Flame
Allows Jamen to either spend one Ki point or two temp hp points to punch or kick a projectile of necrotic energy with a range of 30ft shaped like the head of a dracolich. Counts as an unarmed strike for all purposes. Target must pass a con save (DC 5) or be frightened for 2 turns.
Amplified: May spend 2 ki points or 4 temp hp instead of 1 or 2 respectively to either split the necroball into two. When split, the projectiles may target one creature, hitting twice, or two creatures, hitting once each.
Serpent's Kiss
Starting when you take this tradition at 3rd level, you can force creatures to attack their allies. When you strike a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point or 2 temp HP to force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw or be forced to move up to half it's movement speed towards one of it's allies and make a melee attack against them. If the creature has no allies nearby, then you can instead force it to move up to it's full movement speed in a direction of your choosing.
Raven's Claw
When Jamen reduces a creature to 0HP within 5 feet of him, he may use the soul to power his strikes either giving them an additional d4 necrotic damage to unarmed strikes for the remainder of the combat (Does not stack) or knocking them prone if they fail a dex saving throw.
Touch of Death
Starting at 3rd level, Jamen's study of death allows him to extract the soul from another creature as it nears its demise. When he reduces a creature within 5 feet of him to 0 hit points, he gains temporary hit points equal to his Wisdom modifier + his monk level (minimum of 1 temporary hit point).
Death and Rebirth
At 6th level, Jamen may raise any creature he's reduced to 0HP as a Zombie. These undead are imbued with some of Jamen's own martial arts skill, also sharing his proficiency in stealth. They obey only him and move the turn after Jamen in combat. Jamen may talk and see through them as well if he closes his eyes, concentrates and remains stationary. A body reanimated in this way cannot be reanimated by him again. These undead do not rot, rather their flesh becomes black and wiry. They have no smell. They have 1HP and Jamen can have up to 4 at one time.
Or he may choose to adopt the form, voice and clothes of the person he's killed. With it comes any knowledge about that person that could be considered common. This lasts until Jamen takes a long rest.
Mastery of Death
Beginning at 11th level, you use your familiarity with death to escape its grasp. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can expend 1 ki point (no action required) to have 1 hit point instead.
Mastery of Life
You can sever your foes ability to use their own body. Starting at 11th level, when you touch a creature or hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, you strike at a targets pressure points and cause parts of their body to go limp, inducing 2 of the following status conditions for 1 minute:
- Blindness. You force a creature to shut their eyes tight. The creature is blind for the duration.
- Deafness. You force a creatures ears to shut down. The creature is deaf for the duration.
- Limp Arm. You cause a creatures arms to go limp. The creature has disadvantage on Strength checks and attack rolls for the duration. If the creature was holding any items in it's hand, the item is immediately dropped.
- Limp Leg. You cause a creatures legs to go limp. The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity checks and their movement speed is halved for the duration. Additionally, if a creature has a nonmagical flying speed, you can instead reduce their flying speed to 0 for the duration. You can choose this option twice instead of one of the other options, causing both of the creatures legs to fail them. The creature then falls prone and cannot get up for the duration.
- Mute. You cause a creatures throat to seize up. The creature cannot speak for the duration.
On each of a creatures turns, they can spend their actions to attempt and make a Constitution saving throw to resist one of their conditions. On a success, a condition effecting them ends. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Aboleth Strike
Jamen overpowers the will of another creatures body, forcing them to to take out a command wether they want to or not. Starting at 17th level, Jamen can spend 5 ki points to cast the geas spell with the following changes. Otherwise, he'll follow the same restrictions as the spell.
- The spell has a range of touch.
- The target must make a Constitution saving throw instead of a Wisdom save.
- The target takes 5d10 necrotic damage when it attempts to act counter to his command instead of psychic damage.
