Base Class: Monk
Monks of the way of the one hundred arms are distinct from typical monks in that they hone their minds, and by doing so, hone their bodies; in other disciplines the two take similar precedent, while in this, it is clear that the focus on natural Ki energy is dominant.
Monks of this path choose a single word or phrase to meditate on. This phrase can be anything meaningful to them; common choices are "gratitude" or "detachment." The manifestation of this intense mental training is the appearance of translucent ki limbs, and bodies, in the visage of whatever alignment their phrase represents; this manifestation displays more arms with the depth of devotion. Examples include:
| Alignment | Appearance |
|---|---|
| Good | A golden Buddha-esque statue; A many-armed angel |
| Evil | A robed, horned demonic creature with clawed hands; A dark, formless void of tentacles |
| Lawful | A figure holding scales; An flaming, righteous angel |
| Chaotic | A fey-like winged creature; Oneself |
| Neutral | A figure, split halfway between light and dark; An eyeless creature clad in grey robes |
One-Hundred-Armed Reach
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your meditative training results in your ability to manifest your devotion. Instead of attacking with normal fists, you instead assume a meditative stance; whenever you make unarmed attacks, they appear as large, translucent fists, manifesting out of the aether for their attack, then vanishing again.
These fists utilize Wisdom rather than Dexterity, and deal the same amount of damage as your normal unarmed attacks, but they deal force damage instead. These have a range of 10 feet and count as melee attacks.
Ethereal Defense
At 6th level you gain the ability to defend yourself almost preternaturally from assault, both mundane and magical. When a creature makes an attack roll against you (melee, ranged, or spell), you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC for that attack, potentially causing it to miss as your ethereal arms manifest to protect you.
If this causes a melee attack to miss you, you can spend a ki point to make one unarmed attack against the creature. If the attack hits, they must make a Strength save against your Wisdom DC, pushing them back 10 feet; this amount increases as you gain levels.
Three-Armed Attack
At 11th level, your ethereal arms gain preternatural speed and precision. When you use flurry of blows, you make three attacks instead of two; the third attack has advantage on a creature you have struck in the same turn with an unarmed attack.
One Hundred Arms of Enlightenment
At 17th level the ultimate avatar of your meditations comes into full realization, a construct of pure ki.
As an action, you can spend 10 ki points to manifest your avatar, which takes on an appearance personal to the user. The ki construct floats behind the user, though it is intangible and immune to damage; it blocks line of sight for any creatures behind it, though the monk is not impeded by this. For one minute you gain the following benefits:
- You can take one reaction each turn in combat.
- All of your attacks with your ethereal arms force a Strength saving throw against your Wisdom DC, pushing them back 10 feet on a failed save.
- You can make four attacks as part of your attack action.
- Your ethereal arms' attack range is increased to 20 feet.
