Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Scarlet Spider are usually few and far between. But those who pursue this way follow a mindset of righteousness and incredible willpower.

Superior Patience

At 3rd level, when you use the Patient Defense class feature, you no longer need to spend a ki point to do so.

Spider Stance

Also at 3rd level, once you are in a defensive stance, you weave a metaphorical web about yourself and enemies risk a great deal when they attack you in close combat.

As long as you are receiving the benefits of the Dodge action, when an enemy within 5 feet of you misses you with a melee attack, you may spend 1 ki point as a reaction to impose one of the following effects on that creature:

  • It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • It must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be grappled by you.
  • It cannot take reactions until the end of your next turn.

To make use of Spider Stance, you must be unarmed or wielding only monk weapons and you may not be wielding a shield nor wearing armor.

Wall Crawler

At 6th level, by using your ki to manipulate the positive and negative charges in the air, you gain the ability to move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Spider Reflexes

Also at 6th level, your reflexes are heightened to a super human level. If you are benefiting from the Dodge action, you can spend 1 ki point as a reaction to move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

Spider Senses

At 11th level, your ki enhanced perception gives you the ability to foretell danger. You gain an extra reaction each round. Additionally, you add your Wisdom modifier to your initiative rolls.

Fight or Flight

Also at 11th level, your instincts have sharpened to a fine point. As a reaction to being targeted for an attack, you can spend 2 ki points to become invisible for 1 minute. Taking an action breaks this invisibility.

Proportional Strength

At 17th level, your body’s inherent physique has been enhanced. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift and you can use your Dexterity score in place of your Strength score for these. Additionally, you can use your Dexterity score when making any Strength based ability checks.
